This is good to hear, Steve. And what a cool metaphor -- the knot at the end of the rope -- love it! :)

End of Summer / Fall coming up

I like all seasons as I appreciate each in different ways.

However, if I were forced to pick a favorite, mine would be the fall. Not sure why, really. I like the clothes but I'm not always into clothes, and I very much like being able to go barefoot and wear light clothes which isn't exactly doable here in October. But clothing-wise, fall to me means I get to break out the boots and scarves (some of my favorite items), without having to wear the major winter padding and feel like a stuffed animal.

I don't mind rain or grim days as many people do. On the other hand, I do appreciate the relief from extreme heat, and believe me when one lacks air-conditioning 24/7 and it runs up into the 90's indoors, one tires quickly of the heat!

Other than that, I think a lot might be the colors of fall... the changes in foliage, and the way the leaves all blow about on windy days. Over a decade ago, I had a very clean hypo during fall which might have influenced me too. I have a recollection of deep overcast skies and masses of trees aflame against them... so striking... I remember feeling enchanted and utterly exhalted. I cannot say objectively whether that season was unusually colorful, whether I simply perceived it that way, or both, but the fact remains that the experience left me with a powerfully positive fall memory. Whenever I see so much as a single tree with red leaves, I go back in time for a moment or two... :)

So... I am glad fall is coming. It is not officially here yet -- starts Sunday, September 22.

I wish my memory were better.:(
