Bizi....I hope you are sleeping right now!
I also have problems with so-called sleep meds. Right now Trazodone is doing the trick but I also have problems with it crapping out. Just recently I was bumped up from 100 mg to 150 mgs.
A very frustrating experience I know too well!

Thank you for your replies.
I have had 4 night sweats in the past week....UGH!
I do think the lunesta is helping wonder what my pdoc will say when I tell her what I have been doing. She had me try the rozeram medication like melatonin...did not do anything for me. and why buy it at $100 when you can buy it over the counter? and it helps so many folks.
I really do wonder if I am premenopausal and
I will just have to deal with it???
ok getting off my little whine for today.
My life is so good...I really have nothing to complain about.

Going to play a little devil's advocate here. My son's were a odd mix
but they had to take ritalin after 6pm as children to sleep by 9pm.
OTherwise they would stay up all night, till at least 12 midnight or 1am.

If I gave them the ritalin at 6pm or later they did the 9pm and out
like a light. So we also found out that if we gave them just a small
amount of mountain dew, and things like this, nothing happened half
the time. But if they had 8oz they could sleep as a older teen. So
it was really odd.

They now sleep period.

bizi...is there anything you might be doing different? different vitamins?

it might be from the night sweats and your hormones changing.

night sweats

Bizi,
I am 52 now and they checked my harmone level as I use depo provera for uterine fybroids. (getting riskiy) If I was going into change I could stop...But I wasn;t.

I do get night sweats since I went on Lexapro. If I am at 10 mg it is not bad, but at the 20 I am sweated and could not sleep again like when I first started it. The same thing happens with topomax. 100 mg's I get the sweats again. I even get the flushes during the day occasionally. At my age I should expect this. But, without the topomax, or Lexapro, I am cool and sleep.

I did read where some psych meds affect core temp of a person. I know my daughter could spike a fever for no reason out of the blue. When we did research I think the drug rep from Amblify (sp) found the information about a percentage of the population that could have core body temp regulation affected.

I hope that you can soon sleep and the drenshies let up.

Dear Bizi,
Are you saying that Lunestra is working sometimes?

Are you able to take naps? If you get naps, the lack of sleep at night is less devastating.

Many of us are on similiar roads -- quest for sleep is one.

'Wishing you good sleepfull nights. :Zzzz:

I can't nap anymore for whatever reason, I just can't fall asleep during the day. I laid in bed that one day last week for two hours and nothing. I take abilify and I don't notice any temperature changes in myself, but my son overheats easily so we have to watch out for him. I hope you got some good sleep last night. :D

Good morning.
I slept great last night!:Zzzz:
The problem that I am having is that the sleep meds stop working and I have been switching back and forth from these meds.
over the past month I have gone from ambien to klonipin to ambien to lunesta with days stuck inbetween that with poor sleep.
this was mu 3-4 night having switched to lunesta that seems to have worked last night.
I slept so soundly that I did not even hear hubby get up and take a shower...I usually always hear him do that.
I hope that the lunesta doesn't give out on me but if history holds out it will just don't know when.
thank you guys for your input...
menopause is something that I am looking forward to.
Not having my monthly cycles would be terrific.
I just wonder about hot flashes...they sound miserable....and the mood swings etc....how do we regulate our mood swings thru menopause?
ok...I am not going to obcess about this I promise!
