Special Olympics

Donna, I found a news cast of the opening of the Special Olympics in Terre Haute from a few days ago:

Quote:

Folks from all over the Wabash Valley lent a hand to help try to break a world record with the longest high five line.

That’s just one example of the festivities of Special Olympics Indiana opening ceremonies.

“This is an extra-special event where we honor the athletes, the coaches, the volunteers, but we also have quite a lot of fun,” said Paula Meyer, Indiana State University. “It’s probably the highlight of the summer for all of these athletes and their families. They love coming to Terre Haute, they love coming to campus, but the thing they look forward to the most is opening ceremonies.”

Yes, this is a great one.

They are working for the longest high 5 line.
Don't know when they will know.
Can't remember if this one shows Melony Salla
Lighting the torch. but she is one of our athletes.

She is Athlete of the year.

Yum, first we went to Kohl's, and thankfully he doesn't know how much I saved there. Heehee, 250.00. But I spent about 130.00. Thanks to the
clerk trying to get me a higher percentage off, because I have a credit card.
With scratching off 3 of the cards. All 3 were 15%. The clerk was nice, she
gave me 20%.

I found some really nice shirts for work, a skort that my husband will love.
I plan to wear it on Sunday, for fathers day and Derrick's birthday.
Some shorts.

Then we were at k-mart. And when I'm in a shopping mode that is the wrong place to go. They had shorts, shirts and capri's for under $10.00 that I loved.
Some were even under $5.00. Wow.

So my cart and my husbands cart were full. I bought a neat 4th of july shirt,
For me and my friend. And Jessica a shirt. I told her if she spent 6 or 7 dollars on a shirt, she was to get 2. So she would really look and find something she liked. When she didn't want to get one, I told her she either picked one out or I did.

Got Will 2 pairs of jeans that are adjustable, for 7.99, a set of pajama's of course batman. And a shirt. He also got 2 pairs of pajama pants at Kohls,
they were clearance.

Ethan, picked out 2 or 3 pairs of really neat shorts, a shirt with headphones on it. And a Mario shirt. I think a couple more shirts too. He also got two pairs of shorts from Kohl's. And a neat Tony Hawk shirt, that I was pretty sure he would like. And another that I got both him and Will.

So then I also found a great pair of jean shorts in my size. And a pajama set.
I got a nice bonus last week. Still don't know the exact number.
So I splurged. And I spent 300.00, paid 200.00 cash and put 103.00 on
charge. I will pay off soon both charges.

Hubby, can be happy or mad. I could care less, anyone that can't locate
my stuff at home. Just needs a reality check. But I sure need to go
through things and we have a garage sale this year.

Also bought supplies for our trip.

One last set of great news. My husband got a different job yesterday.
That is why he was in town. He started this morning its a lot less driving
for him usually. Today he had to go to main shop, so it was probably
about the same. But usually about 30 minutes at most to new site.
Also new contractor, and he was really upset with what they were doing
at the new building site. I'm glad my sons didn't get a job there. Not
sure its going to be a safe place to work.

Also this morning, he comes in with my breakfast and hot tea. Comments
really happy that he is loving his new time for leaving and all.

Donna,

That is a great moment --- when your husband likes his hours and his driving time.

And he brings you hot tea and breakfast. So beautiful.

Keep taking care.
