Hi Everyone.

Our modem went out last Thursday. So I haven't been on. But thinking of
everyone.

1. Exciting news Derrick is back with Vocational Rehabilitation which
is our office that helps those that qualify find work.

2. Next on Sept. 10 and 11 he will go to a school and be tested to
see where he needs to start to think of getting a diploma.

Not sure what all else will happen in the time period.

Bizi

I am not sure how you missed it. But I got hurt on April 15th.
Its been a long road of recovery.

1. Its a workmens comp. claim so they are paying all the bills.
Or will be.

My employer was the one that turned it in first. I personally
hadn't considered it yet.

I had a tibia and fibula breaks. Was non weight bearing for
at least 8 weeks. Ended up being close to 10.

I then wore a boscoe boot for a few weeks.

This last week I had a problem start that I can't walk on it again.
After just having been to the doctor. I went back Monday,
and go back in 2 weeks.

Its very frustrating. So we will see. I have gone back this
last couple of days to the boscoe boot.

I fell trying to get out of my house yesterday. And Derrick
had to get help.

Bizi,

I used the "search this thread" tool, and found the original post about Donna's fall when she broke her leg. I don't know if it helps any, or if you were asking more specifically.

I felt the hugs Waves. And they couldn't come at a better time.

As many probably have noticed I've been offline.

I fell last Tuesday the 15th of April. And will leave the hospital rehab tomorrow. Because insurance didn't want to pay for anymore.

Ugh, I hate that kind of thing.

I broke/badly sprained my left ankle. Yes, that is left
Then I also have a compound fracture in my right ankle area.
In the tibia. I believe they said, I broke it in three places.

Only in Donna manner does this happen.

I will be moving to the house Derrick will live in after I recover. And he will
be spending lots of the evenings with me. Probably Dale also, we haven't
gotten all the way through.

I am not going to have internet for a while.

Thanks waves, I guess the nurse in me wanted to know how she fell:
light headedness, Did she just lose her balance? was she having a low blood sugar, low blood pressure, should she be wearing support hose, did she stubble over her feet, fell over a curb, walking down stairs at work, getting into her car at work. just was wondering. It was obviously an accident, should she be using a cane? She posted that she fell again, is there someway to prevent these falls with assisted devices.
Maybe I am being nosey....
just curious

you have been through so much....i hope the new fall wasn't bad. since i had a bad fall, i am anxious it will happen again if i don't learn to slow down.
take care of yourself. you seem to still take care of everybody else and put yourself low on the list.

Right yes, we do not know the cause of the fall.

Donna has spoken in the past that she had a problem with frequent falls due to balance issues. She has had therapy at least once for the balance. I forget what it is called exactly, but if memory serves, it has to do with over-reliance on visual input. The therapy retrains to use the ears as well.

So perhaps these recent falls (the injury one, and the one yesterday) are to do with this balance issue, but we shall have to see if Donna confirms this, or otherwise demystifies us.

Donna?

Oh Gosh, till Waves found the original. I didn't realize I forgot to tell it all.

Here it is: I was getting ready for a fair, and had gone into the office of the place I was setting up at. It has three or four buildings. Trying to find out which building we were in. The person with me is the person that helped set up Derrick's new provider group. So it worked out pretty good.

I was trying to walk down a path, and didn't see a step. Is the closest I can come to a explanation. The guy with me the whole way was the only
reason I knew I missed a step. I didn't see, he asked me why I had done the thing of missing the step.

Anyway, I wanted to get up. Thats how much at first I was out of it, and also couldn't feel the leg. But I sure felt it when they started working to move me.

Luckily the ambulance crew started a IV, and pain meds so it wouldn't be
so bad.

I was also very lucky it was him, he could call the main office. And have them relay a message to Derrick's person that day. So when he came to
where I was at, and didn't find me he allready knew.

Bizi: I'm glad you asked. I thought I had explained.
