Gosh most of the US and some of Europe are getting hammered with the cold. It was only -3* below last night. The wind chill was a killer. My knee, leg and back were in horrible pain. I stayed inside all day after running for medical appt's yesterday.

There is a meeting tonight for Legion Auxiliary, but I can't risk another pain filled night. I wish my hot tub was working soooo bad!
Stay warm everyone.
Di

Yep it is. My nephew lives in Alaska, its warmer there than here.

He hasn't been happy, he moved just for the snow and cold.
Last August.

Di,

I really hope it warms up for you. I am glad you are not going out again at night. That is horrifically cold! We are supposed to get the wave of cold on Sunday, but it doesn't get anywhere near that cold here! Poor you. Warm hugs

Minus
30 to 40??? OMG OMG OMG.

Donna, I have never, ever seen those kinds of temperatures, and I hope never, ever to see them. And I wish you didn't have to.

Brrrr. I'm an icicle just thinking about it.

Oh, in the way of curious trivia, the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales "meet" at negative 40 degrees.

-40 °C = -40 °F.

We are basically having an Indian summer here I guess. It was only in the forties last night -- this time of year it should normally freeze at night.

I have been completely holed up in the house since Christmas, except for a quick run to the pharmacy the other day. I "should" go out, but I really don't feel like it. I haven't been smoking either, so no more wee-hour sessions on the terrace with my coat over my pyjamas, testing the fog and the cold.

The days are actually clearer now, which I like. Fog is nice as a novelty item... once in a while, and never if one must drive in it.

This is crazy cold weather again! 7.4 right now at 6:00pm. They are saying the jet stream dipped, not the polar vortex, but it's been single digits on the mountain all day, and yesterday. I just can't stand going out in it. My hip, thigh, knee, calf even to the ankle is throbbing if I go out.

I had appointments on Wednesday and suffered like a teething baby all night. It even passed my mind to take the family and go work for Disney a year, or a cruise ship.

As I'm getting older it's killing me. Down off the mountain it can be 10* warmer! up here it's just unbearable.
Keep warm Donna, protect your skin if you go out.
Di

Dear Di. You and your poor aching bones have my sympathy. Wish I could send you some warm air. We seem to have gotten your share. Donna too. Hugs to you both best I can do.

We have a small reprieve here. Its been a nice 15 to 20 degrees today.

Going to snow and get bad again tomorrow afternoon and evening. Into Monday. Just praying our kids finally get to go back to school on Monday.

I have been home or in town most of the week. Went to Lafayette on Wednesday for 2 meetings for Derrick.
