walked on the tred mile for an hour only, just did not feel up to it...to walk any further plus I had some errands nagging to be done. Still 3.6 miles is better than none.
I met with my therapist yesterday. I told her it was my last time. Our health insurance is changing and We will have a $4,000 deductible so I can't afford to pay out of pocket for her sessions.
I asked her if I can call on her when I need to she said yes so that is good.

Bizi,

It is hard to say a good bye like that to a therapist.
Log in to
www.meetup.com/

I signed in and get up dates from bipolar, professional people with bipolar, depression , . . . .
Sometimes they meet fairly close to me. I have not gone yet.
It might be nice to talk to people who have similar things to relate to and who are managing their lives.

Mari

Thanks for the link. I just the other day had an lawyer call
wanting information for a parent with mental health issues.

The only number close by I could give was NAMI. Which
is a fantastic place for parents to get help in our area.

But I am going to look at what you posted and see if I can
pass some on. If that is okay.

Donna,

The meet up groups vary depending on how good the leadership is.
Still they are worth checking out for someone who wants to connect with others, learn, help, socialize. . .

I have been such a sloth....
have been drinking way too often and too much.
This is my 2nd day in a row (Alcohol free) this month.
Geesh!
Jeff is at the Football game.
The house is an absolute mess. Halloween things all about, his favorite time of the year. Hoping that the weather stays nice as it has been this week.
Am afraid to look at the forecast....it poured last year....even so we still had about 30 kids come thru.
On my second load of laundry and have "made" a deposit ready for tomorrow don't feel like driving to the night deposit box.
did some filing but need to do billing and then charting, always such an ordeal.
I procrastinate so.
I saw my general practitioner today. I have an injured right thumb.
Either arthritis or tendinitis. It has been bothering me for the past 3 weeks but seems to be getting worse. It is starting to effect my work. She exrayed it and gave me orders for Occupational therapy evaluate and treat.
the thumb stabilizer brace that I bought at walgreens was too small and it actually felt worse this morning when I took it off.
I also asked for colonoscopy orders since am not sure about our new insurance coverage at the first of the year.
WE will now have a yearly $4K deductible!
Thanks to our governor for appropriating funds out of our benefits account to " balance " the budget for the state. Now we have lousy insurance coverage. At least our premium went down. WE can save moneys in a health savings account anticipating expenses and the university will match some of that and it is pretaxed.
anyway,
jeff just got home from the game not over but our team is ahead.
I am not into sports.
Because hubby is with the school of music they allow them to walk in with the band so that is fun for them.
Better sign off.
thanks for reading

Bizi,

Yeah-- I do not understand why some people have to start so early. It is not a million degrees where you are right now. A walk that starts late morning might even get more people.
Maybe you should become in charge of it and change some things. :p
Have fun.
You are doing great AF.

Went to bed last night at 930pm which is a first as I am up after midnight usually. The alarm went off at 5;30 got right up and made a smoothie using frozen blueberries and fresh strawberries and pea protein powder. Drank 2 cups of coffee and I left the house at 610am met paula at a mcdonalds at 630and and she drove us to the town of opelousas for the veterans walk. For a 7;30 check in time. This was the first year for it and it started at 8am. Why does it have to be that early?????
There were only 100 people running and us 2 walking! lol
oh well, it is what it is!
I am very disappointed that paula will not be walking with me on the 8th. she thought the next walk was this next weekend and she made flight plans to go see her grand daughter in north carolia on the 8th.
Originally She asked me to walk with her and now she is bailing out!
This is a big run/walk. 2,000 participants, I asked jeff if he would walk with me...he doesn't know...I asked another friend she was not sure...
sigh. I may go by myself.... Paula said to go anyway that it would push me out of my comfort zone for growth.... She is right. I have much anxiety about doing this by myself.
anyway
jeff is on his way back from the north part of the state, helped with a beer festival for his friend then played with the band for entertainment afterward.
He said he had a good time!
I went to 2 different farmers markets in town picked out some small light purple egg plants and some persimmons and fresh tabouli and chicken salad for dinner tonight. Had a taste of some "healthy" gumbo...mine is better!
Will also have some butternut squash soup from sandras the health food store that I have lunch at during the week, where I met paula.
Going to see the movie Saint vincent tonight with a girl friend.
Think it has bill murray and the comedic actress from bridesmaids.
Should be funny.
Then Jeff and I are going to the museum of fear at our local science museum, halloween attraction. So that will be a late night.
Tomorrow we head to baton rouge AGAIN to see the 13th gate horror attraction that was closed last sunday when we went, no fault of our own....date was not blacked out on our tickets. And also to the chimes restaurant for my favorite dish, new orleans style BBQ shrimp in a butter peppery sauce with a corn cake in the middle with a round roll for dipping into the sauce. Delicious. They also sell many beers on draft so I am sure that I will have some there.
Anyway Baton rouge should be fun, delicious and hopefully a little scarey!
Earlier, I felt like taking a nap but ate a late lunch and drank a cold cup of coffee and am wide awake now.
It is a beautiful day. 70 and the sun is shining.
This morning it was in the 50's so I was chilly, thankful for my long sleeve shirt and leggings(tight fitting yoga pants).
I walked an 8k(5 miles roughly) in one hour and 20 minutes. that is roughly 16 minute mile average. On the tred mill I was walking about 17 minute miles.
So was happy about that.
Last year I bought an expandable water hose, I use it to water the plants on the back porch. The plants were all drooping so I knew that they needed water so I carefully took the hose around the laid out skeletons that jeff was working on, glued in various positions. When I went to turn it on it expanded and I was able to water the back plants but when I shut it off at the nozzle the back up pressure was too much for the hose and it burst open, water going everywhere...on his skeletons which were fine I am sure already set but still that should not have happened! Now I need to get a new hose!
I hope that you have a nice day and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

The weather is changing here too.
It has not really settled into a pattern -- just different from three or four weeks ago.

Have a good day on Sunday.
Keep taking care.

Thank you mari!
we ended up not seeing the movie. we were given the wrong tickets and did not notice it until the wrong movie started, wonder why it started later than scheduled
sigh
the movie we sat thru was a guy movie, shoot them up...another sigh
We had dinner prior to the movie at a new pizza place called mellow mushroom. liked it a lot! groovy decor.
Had the tye dye pizza. it had chicken curry thai sauce and tomatoes really yummy. little sweet spicy.
another nice day today...looks like it will be nice and warm for halloween...no rain in sight.
Jeff bought a crank ghost to put up in the garage this year. she is great!
bizi who got up late this morning...too much to drink.
sigh

Dear Bizi,

I hate those action movies too -- esp on a Movie screen. On TV they are not as bad.

How do you know if the ghost is mail or female? ;)

What color / s do you guys use?
Have loads of fun!

Christine is much more sophisticated....has a regular face with hands so she looks more like real person. She is white with a blue light that makes her glow.
thanks for posting a link to one.

we went to the 13th gate last night, that was a bunch of fun! 2nd best haunted attraction in the country.

Dmom3005 10-27-2014 10:31 AM

Derrick would love this ghost, just would have needed a inside area.

Derrick sets his table or candy area up on the side of our house.
Its a nice lawn and he really enjoys it.

Great day today!
thankful for my job. I only saw 3 clients.
I started off the day with a blueberry spinach smoothie and 2 cups of coffee with half and half.
Had lunch with the gang at the health food store... ate grilled shrimp fahitas ( with out the carbs), quinoa tabouli, sauteed kale with peppers and onions and fresh boiled beets. I love their food!
Dinner: I cooked teryaki ginger salmon in an 450 oven baked for 12 minutes and then I cooked fresh sliced beets with a coating of grapeseed oil spray. and cooked them about 35 minutes on that high heat.
Both were delicious!

I played the alcohol game in my head this afternoon., getting home around 4pm. I could walk down the street to brewskis for a couple of ciders but then that would mean not going to the gym.
Would I drink or would I go to the gym?
I don't drink and drive any more....so that doesn't fit into the equation.
I had forgotten that hubby had rehearsal tonight for the halloween concert tomorrow.
And I looked at my schedule I have most of the day off tomorrow. I will do paper work that I am much behind in!
So in my head I thought that I could go to the gym and then drink....
I knew that I needed as much time as I could muster to walk as far as I could walk on the tred mill.
So that did not leave me any time to go buy any ciders before the walk. And I could not make myself go to the gas station afterward to buy a beer. So I went with out.
I was happy with my walk. I walked a total of 10 miles on the tred mill. 2 hours and 52 minutes.
I took 2, 30 second breaks to tie my shoe and stretch my back.
That was all I could walk. I was done!
My feet were sore....how am I ever going to be able to walk a mini marathon,
which is 12.5 miles ( I think) or even a full marathon.
It is a real time commitment.
I should try jogging,
I tried once a while ago and it hurt, compressed my neck, maybe I will try again. I don't like to sweat though.....
So it was a great day.

thank you bobby!:)
tonight was the university halloween orchestra concert. It was great. Packed house, which there always is holds around 800 seats almost full.
jeff had a small part in one of the pieces he dressed up like a jetson and did a skit with the flintstones on stage. yabba dabba doo! the orchestra sounded great! they all dress up in costumes and play music, trying to follow into some recognizable pieces for the kids in the audience. JEff is out after the concert having a bite to eat at the after party. He said he would not be late.
Friday is the big day. hubby still has lots of work to do good thing he will have a few more hours to get ready since he is done teaching early on fridays. I scheduled a light day to help him if I can.we will be a dead bride and groom again. lol
bizi

bizi 11-01-2014 08:19 PM

halloween was great fun and the kids loved the decorations and special effects, fog machine, crank ghost, skeletons on the roof! spiders in the trees hanging bat in the bush, in the yard full of tombstones, hanging ghouls, lots of kids and parents complemented us, we were dressed as dead bride and groom. this old wedding dress is falling a part but I love it. It is too small and I can only breath shallow breaths so when it is time to be done I can hardly wait to unzip it and be able to breath fully. I can only imagine what it must have been like to wear a corset.
WE use face paint to make us look dead and wear black long wigs with gray streaks.
my hubby is 6'5" with a top hat, he is scarey to the little kids. He wears a wireless mic and transforms his voice over a speaker at the house...we are in the yard. WE play spooky music!
Toward the end of the evening Unfortunately The crank ghost got damaged by one of the kids, pulling on it. jeff was able to un wrap the motor and thinks he can salvage her, christine.. Next year we will section off the garage so that they can't get to her. She was a new prop for this year and expensive so that was really disappointing.Afterward we went to our friends house walked 4 blocks there it was cold. His yard was very nicely done, kind of like disney. he decorates all month long. Had a nice vist then went to a local bar met friends and had drinks and just shared stories and enjoyed our selves. IT was a very fun halloween!

Bizi,

That is a great Halloween!!

You guys are good with the details and all the planning and preparation.

I hope your ghost is reparable and strong enough to go through that again next year.
