The old Twilight Zone had a lot of scifi themed episodes, too. There's a fascinating one with Agnes Moorehead that has almost no dialogue.
As for old films, the Day the Earth Stood Still and the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers are both brilliant.

I thought that "The day the earth stood still"was a very well done movie for the time that it was made in 1951. The one made a couple of years ago was pretty good also. I'll find information on Sapphire and Steel. BF
