Dear Nikko,
Vicoden is hydrocodone + tylenol. You can't get pure hydrocodone from a regular pharmacy. You can only get it from a compounding pharmacy. Percocet is oxycodone + tylenol. Oxycodone is available commonly in pure form. Oxycodone is a more potent analgesic than hydrocodone. Since you have a pain issue that merits morphine, (which is at least as potent as oxycodone), but you cannot take morphine since it makes you sick, why not take oxycodone or Oxycontin, thus avoiding tylenol altogether?

That is what I am going to talk to my PCP about when I see her on the 28th.
Thanks, Nikko |
