Default Music, and it's sparkling reflections of the past.

I was listening to some music that brought back some fond memories of the past.

I think that I listened to a lot of music. Sometimes I would wake up when I was a teenager with the music still playing on the radio by my bed. At times it was very pleasant.

I had thoughts shining into my memories that are buried by the years where there were less worries, and more peace.

I listened to more music, and looked over, and saw that my cat was asleep. She looked so peaceful. I think that she liked the music also. BF

Cool Smirk

BF,

I think we all woke up to the station we fell asleep listening to in our teens. Even now I cannot fall asleep without some music on my tv or mp3 player. Now, though I set the 'sleep' function to turn them off after a while. I have to repeat this several times throughout the night due to my 'issues'.

In the car we listen to the Classic Rock station. 60S to 80s mainly, and I sit there saying things like 'I haven't heard this for 35 years! I was at (insert place name) when this came out!'

Music triggers such strong emotions and memories.

Dave.

Heart

I know... I know.

Happens to me too.

I don't listen to much of anything any more, partly due to my home situation, but increasingly due to an odd sort of sound sensitivity. I crave silence, and get as much of that as I possibly can. That's sort of sad, I know. I sometimes think if I had more personal space, it might not be this way.

But when I do listen to music, it's always music from the past. Sometimes it brings back memories, sometimes just old feelings. It can be like reconnecting to a part of myself, often a good part of myself.

Heart Wow

Hi,

I am glad that you guys have fond memories and that music can bring pleasure.
For a long time, I could not listen to music without being sad. Thus I avoided it.

In the past two years I have been able to listen to music and I am listening a lot,
but it is only to music that I discovered recently or to music that has no associations for me.
What music does now is it gets me out of my head or maybe it helps me in the present moment.

Hey Waves. I know what you mean. At times,I don't want to hear anything. I'd turn off music, the TV,and turn off any lamps that are on. At times I can't stand my radio scanner hobby, and at times I can't stand reading. The reading sometimes causes my OCD to get worse. I don't know why. It just does. BF

Hey Mari Sometimes I can't stand to listen to music. At those times I usually can listen to a few music channels on the pay tv services, where they play soft music that I didn't use to listen to. I started listening to that soft music when my best friend, and my dad passed away within the same couple of days. I also listened to that music when my cat died three months ago. I've even turned that music off to. I hope that you can rest tonight. BF
