I went and got the mail this morning and in the box was an envelope from Social Security. That alone always makes me nervous. Then I looked inside. It was one of those check the box things where you answer questions if you worked and when, and my last appointments. I know it may seem innocent but there is that dread of a physical and the loss of my income. I don't lie or anything but I just feel judged. That drives me nuts.
Anyone else get these?

I haven't gotten one yet. I have been on SSDI for only a few years. An acquaintance has been on it a long time and has had to go there but all was fine. I don't think you have any reason to worry but I guess I would be hitting the ceiling with anxiety. Being bipolar is so hard. Even when I know my fears are totally unreasonable I can't control my anxiety with the slightest reminder of anything connected with my security issues. My anxiety rose big time just reading your post. My acquaintance does work off the books and she doesn't even get anxious....I guess I had to throw that in....
I never even got the letter from the judge saying why he approved my ssdi. My lawyer tried to get it but couldn't. It was something like six months after I was approved when he was paid and he said he was relieved that at least it was past the time of contesting it. The older I get (I am sixty three), the less I can emotionally handle with my bipolar and now I seek help from agencies when I get agitated. Up until seven years ago, I never sought help. Why not call SSDI and see why they sent it to you. Bobby |

I'm sorry Bobby to get you all anxious. I didn't mean to trigger you.
![]() The letter enclosed said it was just to see what I have been doing since this time last year. I get very anxious too when I see that letterhead. Its such simple paperwork but it fills me with dread. I hate that. Again sorry that I got your anxiety up.

I have not received one yet either, I have only been on SSDI 4 years.
So, what are you supposed to do when you get these letters. ![]() All, I think I would do is bring it to my p-doc first. Unless, you still have the lawyer that helped you with the forms in the beginning of your SSDI process. Nikko Good Luck |

at least you prepared me :-)
my mailwoman saw me today on the way back from the psychiatrist. She looked so happy and said you picked up your mail last time -I told her I haven't been depressed in five days. I also commented on her hair. It was a great style. I wish I could do it to mine. For the last few months, I am usually very cautious what I read since my anxiety go through the roof at the drop of a feather... Bobby |
