I remember your last thread where you mentioned insomnia with gabapentin.

You also mentioned having some seizure activity as well. Is that correct? Can you confirm that?

The seizures make your case slightly more complicated. In most cases, doctors would try antipsychotics if antiepileptic mood stabilizers fail. In your case this would be touchy, because many antipsychotics reduce seizure threshold. If trying an antipsychotic you'd need close monitoring and possibly a change in seizure therapy.

Lithium may be safe for you, but comes with its own host of tolerability issues, and close monitoring is required regardless.

I'd encourage you to find a psychiatrist who is also a neurologist, or at least see a neurologist, to see what the best option for you would be at this juncture. Bring a written list of everything you've tried and your reactions to each med.

Unhappy

Welcome lady.
Glad that you found us, waves gives such sage advice.
I am hoping that you find something very soon.
What medications are you taking if I may ask.
Which ones can you tolerate?
I think a neuro is perfect too.

Red face

I think med changes take 3-4 weeks to see if they are working...don't know about that...
