Wow, 60lbs Dave! That is a lot!
But it is worth it if it kept you safe. I'm glad it worked for you.

Yes, a lot. It makes you hungry and I am on Metoclopramide as well, which empties your stomach quickly.

Still, with the support of bizi and my friends on the Weight Loss Forum, I have lost 45lbs since May. I had to after I fell and broke my ribs.

Dave.

Hope it helps you get through this difficult time.

I appreciate the information. This worries me because I gained 50 pounds on the Seroquel, and I'm still on Seroquel.

If I start gaining weight while on the Mirtazapine,I'll drop it like a hot potato. If I go up another 15 pounds, the Mirtazapine will be history in my life.

I'm glad that I was thin before I started taking the Seroquel. My belly weight is noticeable. I'm very self conscious about it. BF

Hi, BF,

Information is good.

I hope that the med or whatever next med she give you helps.

I am glad that she is considering how to help you.

BF, Bobby recently lost her sister and posted this link on one of her threads. It's worth a read:

Pretty much all of my weight gain was the bad belly fat. My trousers went up from a 36inch to 48inch. I am now back down to 38inch fitting, although my belly still overhangs. Waist measurement is about 41inches at the moment. I have just had to learn to count calories, cut out junk and list everything I eat and drink.

Mari, my ribs healed well, thank you.

Dave.

Congratulations on your weight loss Dave. And am glad your ribs are alright now.

Hopefully before you get close to 15lbs you'll be feeling well enough to switch to a different drug BF... but if it's causing you enough anxiety right now worrying about the weight gain you may want to think about calling your pdoc now and have a discussion about taking a different drug without that side effect.
