I have been disappointed in the the series since Mathew died violently / suddenly in series three so I mostly watched but skipped some episodes because it felt boring.


I have been reading the U.K. sites for the recaps -- I know what happens
without having to watch the whole thing.

But the buzz about this last episode was that the writer would tie up loose
strings and indeed he did and I am delighted. I watched parts of it twice and cried and got sad.

Is everyone except Barrow married/paired off?

yes every one is paired off...
Barrow is now butler of downton abbey so he is finally happy. so good endings for all!
perhaps the only thing that happened was mr carson having to retire because of his shakes, but he will live there still and oversee things a bit if I understand that correctly. I cried a bit myself.

I think my bipolar is out of whack because of menopause. I don't know why I did not figure that out but I can't think of another reason why I have been so out of control. I will call my pdoc today and tell her that I have had 3 periods 2 weeks apart. I really believe this is contributing to my problems...being bipolar, hypomania is linked to my increase in drinking. Don't know what comes first...the increased drinking affecting my meds or my hypomania affecting my drinking, either way, I am a mess. I have been here before but never this bad. I don't remember how I have gotten out of this spot before. This is why I believe it is menopause effecting my mood/behaviors.

I just called my pdocs office to tell her about my menopausal beliefs.

I'm so sorry you're having such a difficult time right now Bizi I hope that the increase in geodon starts to help soon. How long does it take before you know if it's helping or not? And if you need to bump it up a little more?
Didn't your pdoc suggest increasing lamictal in addition to the geodon? I thought that the antidepressant quality of it was mild… does it have more of an impact on you, and if so why would she recommend the increase?
(This may be another reason why you need a new pdoc)

You're starting to go through menopause (which can cause wild mood swings in women who aren't bipolar) and happened to reduce your geodon at this inopportune time so you've gotten a little messy and it's led to your increased drinking….

I don't know which is worse: dealing with consequences the mood fluctuations
of menopause or dealing with the potential side effects of hormone replacement to prevent them. I think you should probably do some research on the subject. I'm positive you aren't the first woman with bp who has faced this issue.
Perhaps if you get a new pdoc he/she will have more input on this issue.

Maybe one of your girl friends has a wonderful GYN they can recommend since you don't have one of your own. I don't know if I'd be comfortable having my PCP handling hormone treatments and I think he'd refuse and refer me to a GYN anyway.

MY regular doctor and his nurse practioner were the ones that kept a
eye on my menopause after and during. If I had needed hormones
for that they were the ones that were going to prescribe.

I went through really fast after having my ovaries removed close
to 50.

I guess I am concerned because my first manic episode that triggered a full blown psychotic manic hospitalization was from a birth control shot: depoprevera or something like that. I am afraid to take hormones.
