Hi, Bizi,

You can lose the weight.

How do cucumbers get infected? Doesn't the skin protect them?
Bagged salad? That worries me because we eat a lot of those.

I guess we take chances every day with the food we eat. kays cats would not eat her food because it was bad....
dole was the bagged brand. I usually use the boxed kind organic 365 brand if we buy them at all these days.
chipotle had issues with their lettuce, they did not serve it when we were there last.
We mostly only use frozen veggies. picked at their prime and flash par boiled before freezing. We get them from whole foods. They are organic and only cost about $1 more than conventional.
WE eat:
califlower
brocolli
fire roasted corn
shelled edemame
california squash medley
butternut squash
long green beans
mushrooms
occasionally lima beans(I don't like them)

I get fresh pink lady apples there and always wash them off first.

When going to a restuarant I never use the lemon in my water because I have heard that a lot of them don't gt washed before cutting them and who knows what sort of bacteria could be on them....maybe I am alittle paranoid about the lemons...

I have faith that you can lose the weight, too Bizi. You've been successful in dropping the pounds in the past when you've put your mind to it

That article is scary! I don't remember hearing about all of those recalls…
I stopped buying bagged salads because I've been more successful at selling salads to my husband lately and I make my own mix so out of all of those products, I'm only guilty of buying the cucumbers, but we go through a lot. I can't believe there were 888 cases of infection!

You're not paranoid about the lemons Bizi. I bartended and did a lot of waitressing, and it's rare to see anyone washing the lemons, limes, or oranges for garnishes. When I used to order bloody mary's I would specifically say no lime.

My husband is against most vegetables outside of salads, so I get most of mine in during the day- usually raw. I wash everything thoroughly in warm to hot water though. I buy frozen peas and canned corn.

Question, anyone know a good site for bringing cholesterol down. Showing
list of foods not to eat. My husbands is just a little over what it should
be. And he is trying to change his diet. Ugh, he is obsessed with some
of this stuff.

Donna,

Losing five or ten pounds can lower cholesterol in most cases.

I found an article that talks about menopause and bipolar disorder in general:

http://menopause.northwestern.edu/co...-mania-risk-bd

I also found a very interesting article that talks about hormones and bipolar disorder in general. This is a link to the abstract. You can download the whole PDF of the article here:

Unhappy

my pdoc sent me a link to kudzu and it said it was for treatment of hang overs....not urges...
lol
I did not research it before I ordered it. Now looking at the bottle it does say recovery on it.
oh well
Just another example that I am being impulsive....hypo.
using a compnay called grub I ordered some groceries. It was a facebook add with a 20% coupon and free shipping if over $50 so I ordered a bunch of random organic things, some perishables.
When my shippment arrived I was unhappy that I received walnuts in the shell, very expensive for such a small amount of walnuts in the shell. like $13 for a pound and I did not like the bana chips they sent.....I complained when they wrote me and they credited my account, $15 dollars. So that "made" me order again. But I had to pay for shipping this time so I ended up paying $10 for 12oz coffee beans, 5 small baby zuchinnis, i small red pepper and 3 very bruised apples!
When they write again to ask how I liked the order, I will tell them about the apples but want a refund not a credit.
I could not find a phone number or I would have called.
I guess it is too much to ask for pristine apples when ordering them by mail.
sigh
bizi
I am drinking every day and am on this computer too much.
more signs of hypomania....
