Thanks for the picture, Bizi.

I loved reading the description of your trip. Did you meet some cool people?

The airbnb folks were nice and gave us good recommendations to eat. The only person to actually sit and have a conversation was the parisian man.
He was overly friendly and we talked for a long time, at 2am when the restaurant closed late in the night he invited us to go out with a friend of his. To "party". We declined saying We are old and needed to get back...this surprised him.
His friend seemed indifferent to us.
Later, This made me suspicious and I am glad that we did not go.
Most of the people were tourists that we encountered.
The wait staff wre all nice to us. Including paris.
OH I forgot
In rome we met this bar tender (Luigi is his name) where we would go every night at his bar called antigallery. He was very nice and bought us shots. All of the bartenders drink so he was pretty in the loop the second night we were there.
Tipping is weird there... some times 15% was added to the bill other times it was included but we were unsure how to tip. so were did not as that is what we had read before hand.
I think there are so many foreigners who knows what is now expected. We were helping there economy, we spent enough there.

Yeah… I'm glad you trusted your instincts and didn't go to that party. You had enough fun things planned for your trip and didn't need to be robbed by the locals!

I love good bartenders! They can be so much fun! Being the big drinker I was, I've met my fair share over the years :)

The tipping situation would have confused me, too. I'm glad you had done your reading beforehand.

Today is the last day of the month.
Traveling, eating, drinking at free will has contributed to my weight gain.
I have gained over 20 pounds since november.
Time to get serious and reel it in. I have the dreaded beer belly and rolls of fat over my scrub pants which are way too tight!
sigh
I bought these new scrubs at my lower weight.
and took all of my old ones to the good will.
I have quite alot of beer in the fridge so will finish that and think about dieting after the 4th of july festivities.
I worked last weekend and will work this weekend, and the next two satudays after that to finally get caught up from being gone 2 weeks.
Thank goodness I love my job!
Have a great day!

little note:
I hate it when I use there and I should have used their....

I'm so glad you love your job :)

You have had success in the past at shedding the pounds, and while we won't be on the same diet, we can support one another while we try to take some weight off. You'll be starting about a week earlier than me though :)

bizi 06-30-2016 07:35 PM

When are you officially starting again kay?
bizi

OhKay 07-01-2016 08:08 AM

The plan is to start as soon as I wake up July 12th.

bizi 07-01-2016 08:35 AM

That sounds like a good day as any to start too for me.
I will join you!
