Kay,

I believe that you are going to get the right apartment at the right
time for you.

You keep working towards the goal as you have been doing and you
will have everything you want.

That is my wish and my belief.

Thank you so much for the encouragement ladies
I really needed it because I was ****ing freaking out yesterday.

The search is over!!! I called yesterday, and we got an apartment at the place I had my heart set on!!!
We are both very happy and relieved that we've landed a nice new place. I think we will be very happy there. We can't wait to move now!

We will have a balcony with a view of the lake. The rent is $150 less than what we are paying now, and includes heat and hot water. If we renewed our lease here, our rent would be going up at least another $50, so we will actually be saving $200/mo. I wish I could view OUR new apartment, but the tenant isn't moving out until July 11th (my birthday) and they are at least replacing the flooring in the living room, but may have to update cabinets, counter tops, etc. The office manager wasn't sure about what exactly what needs to be done in our apartment.

All I know is that the apartment will be ready Aug. 1st (a Tuesday) at the latest, but I hope we can get in there earlier because we have to be out of this apartment and turn in our keys by noon that day, and it would be much easier to get help moving the weekend before. We would need to hire movers otherwise. The lady in the office said in many cases they get new tenants their keys a couple of days earlier... and I hope that's the case with us. I will try to gently press the issue around the middle of July and hope that things work out in our favor.

After taking 4 doses of the increased gabapentin (400mg), I'm definitely hypo vs. manic now. It's an improvement, but I'm still too high. I'm not going to increase it to 600mg or see the covering pdoc yet tho. I'm hoping to come down slowly at this dose... maybe less stress/anxiety will help?

I still can't clean anything yet because I haven't recovered from the damage I did to my body last weekend. I haven't even done laundry. I need more time to recuperate. Since we won't be moving until the end of July, I will have more time than I expected to work on my "moving soon list." So, there's no need to rush into anything else now.

Lightbulb You did great! Happy early birthday!

Congratulations Kay!!!!

Soooo happy to hear that you have the place you set your heart on!!!!!!!

And it is lake view!!!!!
And new flooring!

Re the balcony? Does that mean that you have stairs? Are you in a two story building?

What is the laundry situation?
I hope you get some good rest.

The new apartment is further away from Corey's work, but he says he doesn't mind. He usually just reports directly to job sites in the morning anyway. There is a lot of traffic going the most direct route from his office, but there are a lot of back roads he can explore. He is usually good about figuring those things out.

I will be able to park right up to the front door, and there are only 3 steps to enter the building vs. 7!
The way most apartment buildings around here are built, when you walk in, you either have to go up the stairs to the 2nd floor or down the stairs to the 1st. Right now I go down the stairs, but when I move to the new apartment, I will be going up because it's on the 2nd floor. There's really no difference. It's a 3 story building, but going up to the 3rd floor would be too much for me.

In these buildings, 1st floor apartments are almost always partially underground whether there is a patio or not (we have one here tho). Both bedroom windows are blocked by shrubbery. I also don't like being on the 1st floor because everyone crossing the lawn on the way to the door can see into my apartment through the slider in the living room, so it will be nice to have more privacy on the 2nd floor. Our new balcony isn't screened in, but the kitties will be able to see a lot more birds etc from the windows and the slider, especially since we will be by the lake and there are a lot of trees. I won't let the cats onto the balcony because they may jump.

There is no "pet deposit" or "pet rent." We just pay our 1st month's rent and security deposit when we sign our lease sometime in July.

Unfortunately, I think the laundry is on the 1st floor, but I can buy a laundry hamper with wheels and drag it behind me. A lot of people here do that. What I'm using now is too big, and the wheels are too big, to take stairs. I will work it out.

I had to go out an buy a new cordless phone yesterday because I dropped the only working handset in one of the litter boxes when I was trying to put it back on the hook, and I couldn't really get it clean enough (not that it would ever have been clean enough for me after that). I can't believe how expensive they are now!!!

I am STILL bruised and battered from all the cleaning I did last weekend. I must have been more manic than I realized to continue to abuse myself to the point where I still haven't recovered after about a week. So, I still won't be cleaning anything. My husband has been hoarding pay stubs for years for no good reason, so I guess I can busy myself shredding those to keep myself out of trouble because I'm still hypo...

I've been on 400mg of gabapentin for 5 nights now. I'm hypo and still not sleeping well even though my anxiety isn't as high, so I'm considering raising it to 600mg tonight. IDK. I guess I will see how I do today...

It sounds so great! Were you able to get a floor plan? Is it about the same size? How many apartments? With the money you are saving it is a shame you can't get your own washer and dryer.

God is really taking care of you in spite of yourself lol
