I AM HORRIFIED!!! I was a home health aid, and I know it's their job to vacuum. Marcia knew it was part of the job when she took it (can you buy HEPA bags for your vacuum?). They should be doing it without asking or asking if you want it done. You shouldn't have to try to vacuum yourself or have to settle for a dirty rug! You are too easy… you're a softy  I'm nice, but I don't put up with **** like that. I haven't vacuumed the carpet in my living room for a while now, and it's driving me crazy! But since vacuuming the cat room after treating it, I feel like I need to take it apart and clean it so I don't contaminate the rest of the apartment. Once the cat room is done, I will vacuum it, then do that. The room will be filling up with boxes soon, but I think I will put a drop cloth down so the boxes don't smell like cat pee. The last time I went to the Yankee Candle outlet, I got 5 large candles for $40. You can't beat those prices. The cat room is pretty small, so sweeping the ceiling and walls was really quick and easy. I decided to wash one of the walls to see how things were going to go. I don't want to jinx myself, but it was SO MUCH EASIER than I thought it would be!!! The wall the cat boxes have been up against will not be so easy, and the vertical blinds above them are disgusting and will need to be dealt with. I've decided to leave all that for last… I should be able to finish up today, but if I run out of gas, there's always tomorrow morning. What's important is I can see light at the end of the tunnel… I'm finally going to be able to finish this ****ing project, which I don't think will destroy me, and move on. I can't wait!!! I couldn't smell any cat pee in the room while I was in there, or for hours afterwards, because I was cleaning with vinegar. I wish I had tried using that on the carpet instead of other things, but I'm not about to start a project like that again. I'm done with that ****. Meanwhile, my husband STILL hasn't taken out ANY furniture!!! I don't think there's a word that adequately describes my level of frustration… |
you know how I feel about your husband.....
heavy sigh glad that you see the end point yeah! bizi |

Of course I got in over my head again lol :roll eyes:
I didn't factor in the door on one wall, or the sliding closet doors on another, and as it turned out, they had to be washed by hand. I finished those two walls and the blinds, but not the last wall. I just couldn't do it. I can do it this morning. It shouldn't take me too long… famous last words. I'm going to put cleaning on hold for a bit while I start packing our non-essential clothing. I don't have a lot, but my husband has a TON. I think there will be a lot for donation. Meanwhile, there are other things he needs to sort through, so there will be a lot of garbage, but that garbage can sit in the cat room until he takes the ****ing furniture out! Right after I scooped out the litter boxes yesterday, one of the cats peed on the litter mat. I hadn't added anything to the litter, and I hadn't started cleaning, or to setting up to clean yet. I don't know what they're going to do when I really start packing, or when we move. My black light comes on Sunday (Amazon Prime). I think I'm going to be ****ing horrified by what I find here. The problem with using the black light to keep the new apartment clean is that it can only detect pee once it's dried and the stain is harder to remove. I have my first infusion of this round of Tysabri (the MS med) today at 2pm. I didn't make the appointment… it's not a good time for me because I'm usually sleeping. The infusion usually takes an hour, then they "watch" you for an hour afterwards. Maybe I can sleep there. IDK. |
yeah does happy dance that you are finished with the cat room!!!!!!
congratulations! (((((HUGS))))) bizi |
IT'S OFFICIAL: THE CAT ROOM IS DONE!!!
I need a little recovery time, but then it's onto packing clothing. And of course, I will be emptying all the kitchen cabinets on Tuesday for when the exterminators come, and some of that crap can be packed, too. After yesterday's activity, the infusion, and no nap, I was looking forward to sleeping in for a change, but... My husband woke me up at 5:30 this morning to tell me he overflowed the toilet, but had to go to work, so it was my problem to deal with. You all know I have some serious issues with OCD, so you can imagine what I was doing and how my morning went... :( I stopped by the realty office for the new place to see if I could nail down a move-in date, but was disappointed. I probably won't have a definitive answer until early next week. The assistant property manager did say they like to allow residents to move in on the weekends before the 1st if it falls on a weekday, but she still wasn't sure when the apartment would be ready. There is at least some HOPE that we won't be moving out/in under the gun, but it would be really nice to know when we are actually moving... big source of anxiety. |
congratulations-big hug-too bad corey had to add the finishing touch

KAY,
Congrats on the cat room! I hope you get your move in date soon. M |
Yesterday I wasn't able to wash the bath mats or Corey's slippers, which I wore during the dirty part of the cleaning process (his s***, his slippers), because I had an appointment to get my hair cut at 9am. I guess I will have to try to get into the laundry room to do that today, but it's very busy on weekends. I HAVE to be OKAY with just washing them because I don't know what color the new bathroom is yet, and don't want to waste a lot of money buying things that won't match. Our current bathroom, for example, has a blue tub and blue tiles.
I need to see the apartment before I can buy other things, too... The guy in our new apt. moves out on Tuesday and the lady in the office said she could bring me over there to look at it some time next week. I hope we can find a time when Corey will be able to come too, but his work schedule is unpredictable. I could say "after 3," but I don't know how well that would go over with her, or have to gamble on a time hoping he can somehow free himself up earlier than normal. I bought a carrier off Chewy.com yesterday. I hope the fat kitties fit in it. They were getting impatient with me trying to repeatedly position and measure them with the ruler lol. I still have time to buy a bigger one and send this one back if it's too small, but I think it's the same size as the other one. I've been up since 4:30am. I want to shoot the ****ing birds outside my bedroom window... they get going around 3:30, and I swear there's a million of them. I have soooo many things to do today, and wish I could make use of all this extra time, but I have to be quiet because everyone else is sleeping... |
congratulations again on getting the cat room done!!!!!!
