Mari,

It caught my eye when Kay mentioned the possibility of Resperdal causing an episode. I hope you don't mind my asking if you are currently taking Resperdal? I know my mother really had issues with this med.

As far as sleeping is concerned; I know how important that can be. The only things that really helps me get 5 or 6 hrs. sleep is Ambien Cr. But that is not for everyone.

Hi, Gerry,

Thanks.

I am sorry about your mom on this stuff.

I am taking a tiny dose once a day -- so tiny it is off the charts.
Here is how the manufacturer recommends risperdal for adults with bipolar:
Risperdal Dosage Guide - Drugs.com
From 2 to 3 mg to 1 to 6 mg

=-=-
I have mostly been taking 0.06 mgs at night.

I would say that 25 mg of Seroquel would be approximately equivalent to 0.25 ml of Risperdal.

Liquid medications are usually more expensive or not covered by insurance. I can send the Rx to initiate the process but not guarantee how your insurance will respond to that.
I was looking up thread.
The above is what pdoc said in an email about the
approx equivalency of Seroquel to Risperdal.

In my experience, these are not similar enough for an equivalency guess.

THEY are not equivalent. The drugs are not even close.

I am having very different responses to the two.

Default Chart for pdoc appt re Seroquel and Resperdal these past 3 and 1/2 weeks

I spent the past two hours converting my updates these past three and a half weeks
into a chart for the pdoc Monday/later today:

name of med, dose, side effects, sleep / no sleep, extra klonopin, . . .

I printed two copies and put them in my purse along with the Jury summons.
I also put the Resperdal bottle and its syringe in the purse.

And I need to print out the driving directions again and put them in the purse.

Ooo Halcion?

Pdoc offered me Halcion for sleep.
(She had asked whether I have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep)

I said "no" tp the drug because I did not know what it was.

I just looked it up and saw that it was a benzo used for sleep!!!!!
Triazolam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I should have said "yes."

At that meeting I was so agitated that I was pracitically out of my gourd.

Did you get the jury duty letter out of the way?

You can always leave a message and ask your pdoc to tell her you changed your mind about the halcion, and ask her to call in the script for you, or leave the paper script in the office for you to pick up (if that's what your state requires).

Did you talk to your pdoc about your recent symptoms?
Did she notice your agitation at the appointment?

She did not exactly see the agitation but I was so off from lack of sleep she saw something. I was messed up.

I did hand her the chart of meds and side effects for the past 3.5 weeks that I made the night before and that was helpful.

After seeing the pdoc, I dealt with a young woman in the office who faxed the letter to the court.

=-=-=-

When the pdoc talked about meds, I asked her if we could keep everything the same until I came back in two weeks.
I did not want any changes and I did not what to have to make any decisions.

Then after dealing with the jury duty thing and making an appt,
I went out side and could not find my car.
For 20 mins, I walked around in the 98 degree heat looking for my car.

I found it in a weird spot . . . wondering why in the heck I would have parked it there.

=-=-

I slept a tiny bit today. Now need to somehow take a shower, pack my CPAP, and DRIVE 90 mins to see sleep doc.
