You may want to get a *free* quote from a contractor in case the wood surrounding the windows needs to be replaced. You could also get a quote for converting your carport into a garage. He/she could handle any permits involved if you hired them. I don't know how the cost of the contractor compares to the cost of hiring home depot or someone else to install new windows.

Please be careful going up there on the ladder with nobody around to hold it for you. You can always get the exterior of the house power washed to improve its appearance. I know it's hard to resist that drive to get things done when you're hypo though

You did a lot of work yesterday! It always feels good to get so much done like that. I really enjoy that part of euphoric hypomania. I hope it made the time without Jeff go by more quickly, and I hope you tired yourself out, and were able to sleep.

Just please keep an eye on your symptoms… and everything else I always say…

Mari,
Both bathrooms don't have any windows though each one meets to the exterior. It is a very compact house. I like the idea of having hurrricane proof windows instead of boarding ours up, we have done that twice since we moved in in 2002. Never know when if this year is going to be the one....
have a good day.
((((HUGS))))

I could not find "hurricane proof" windows on that site, please, could you help me with that?
thanks

thanks kay,
sinking into the m ud was sort of freaky and I was very careful. soap and rain, I had good shoes on....I know that I was taking a risk, felt compelled to do it anyway.
I looked at the windows from the inside out and they are still dirty, so will have to take paper towels to them and windex. I will have to get into the bushes again but at least not on the ladder.
I really want those windows to sparkle!
I told jeff about my work, no real response from him...oh well. I called my mom and got the wanted praise from her. I told her the story and She knew what I went thru. She does that sort of thing often.
I should have taken before and after pictures! Rats!

I am on weight neutral meds so can't blame the meds for my 20 pound weight gain.
I blame over eating, drinking and lack of exercise and hormones.
Have been dieting this week and am down 4 pounds but know that is part water weight since I am abstaining from drinking. I went to planet fitness on saturday night and walked one hour, felt good!

This has been interesting thread.

My husband has replaced lots of windows at different houses. Ive never
know of anyone having to have a permit to do this.

Good luck.

A contractor will likely cost less than home depot.
That was just a random web site I found that describes those windows that are
supposed to not shatter during hurricane winds.

Yes, do be careful with being on the ladder.

thanks mari, I went to thumb tack and got the name of a richards renovation and repair man. We emailed at 9pm which I liked, some one not afraid to do business at night. I will call him tomorrow and set up a time for him to come over to give us an estimate.:)

I'm glad you got in touch with a repairman. I think the fact that he emailed you at 9pm is a good sign. It shows that he is invested in his business, and is probably a hard worker.

I think "hurricane windows" is a layman's term to describe windows with a certain type of shatterproof glass.

50 mosquito bites is a lot! They may not have been itchy immediately but…
if they do, with so many, you'd be better off with Benadryl than painting your legs with calamine lotion.

I think it's great that you lost 4 lbs!
It doesn't matter exactly how you lost it, you've been exercising will power and you should be proud of yourself :)
Do you think you will go to the gym regularly? I've abandoned the exercise bike, and need to get back on it one of these days…
