Please be careful about taking the Benedryl + Oxy together. I would try taking a small amount of Benedryl first, and avoid timing it too closely to the Oxy if possible. You can always take more Benedryl if the first dose doesn't work Are you splitting the pain pills so that you are tapering off them? It will obviously help them last longer, too. I can't wait until you're feeling better and sleeping better |

Bobby, I have been on Oxycontin for a few years now. Oxycontin is extended release and should never be cut/split. Oxycodone is a bit different in that it is not extended release. I believe you mentioned it is the Oxycontin you are taking which is usually given for long term pain (chronic). Good you are cutting back the daily quantity of the oxy. That's too bad the Ambien does not work for you. It has really been a godsend for me. Good idea to check with the doctor before taking the aspirin. Hopefully you'll soon be feeling better. Sleep really is so important to recovery. Gerry Last edited by ger715; 08-12-2016 at 10:02 PM. |

Bobby,
Since you are having so many problems with not sleeping; you might want to check with your doctor whether Risperdal might cause anxiety and insomnia? Gerry Last edited by ger715; 08-12-2016 at 10:03 PM. Reason: spelling |

I have been on risperdal for over 12 years when i was first diagnosed. why do say
that about it. I need an antipsychotic and that is the only one that agrees me. I don"t feel that well right now. I was supposed to take off the remaining bandage but it still hurts and i am a little nauseated. last night had a headache. I never used to get headaches before. bobby Last edited by mymorgy; 08-13-2016 at 05:56 AM. |

Bobby,
I am wondering if the ocycotin or maybe coming off the oxycontin caused the headache. If that is the case, the headache might go away. I certainly hope so. I don't think so. the headaches go away once i take a pill unless i misunderstood. The headaches started almost immediately and went away almost immediately so i don't think they had anything with withdrawal but the pain from the surgery. I got less headaches. that is why i could less oxy.
