I showed up for the second meeting in one week twenty minutes late.
I got there and sat near-ish the front talking and laughing with the guy I was sitting with. One other friend sitting nearby "hushed" me because I was making too much noise. I wrote my seat-mate notes instead. In the context of the meeting, I argued with someone who deserved it and argued with someone else in order to back-up my boss who thanked me later. =-=-= At my work place we often replay with each other what happened in the meeting/s: 1. Hubby said a few people did not like/disagreed with my outspoken-ness. He keeps a very low profile. So he and I always disagree on these things. 2. Work buddy agreed with me but warned me against my having volunteered for a committee. I told him I would only do the committee under certain conditions. 3. My immediate boss thanked me afterwards for sticking up for her point. 4. The new-ish big big boss running the meeting said afterwards than she finally learned my name (because I kept speaking up and raising my hand in useful ways). (I guess she finally attached my face to my name). 5. I called my Dad later for advice. He felt I was in complete range of normal decision making. |
