Default fat

i haven't been this fat for at least four or five years. I am 20 pounds over that weight. since my stroke my weight has been going up and down but now it is up at least 10 pounds heavier. I was going to order general tse's chicken lunch special with an egg roll and it comes with soup and fried rice. Lately that is my favorite. Now i am afraid i will go back to 266...I am stopping the topamax that worked for me when I took 200 or 150 mg. the pdoc will only give me 100.
that does nothing. I have a lot of soup but i am afraid that adds weight. I will have eggs. I decided five minutes ago. the fatter i get the less I care about losing weight.
I just ordered a book from amazon about a former school mate who married out of our girl's school, had five children and turned to drinking and left them; I know she she had one children a year after she graduated. I don't know when she had the others. she was very nice and oh so pretty. I had heard that she got divorced but that is all i heard. the book is written with her therapist. you can find the first chapter of her book here Welcome | Jane Bartels

My wife & I watch our weight closely. One thing we find we have to be very careful of is salt. It's in nearly everything in much too high amounts. We pretty-much cook our own meals & always purchase low-salt or no-salt added canned goods, etc. Anytime we go out to eat, which isn't often, we can both tell the next day we received a jolt of salt. I've read that people develop a taste for increasing amounts of salt in their food over time. And I believe it because we use very little salt at all & never miss it.

In my late teens, I suffered from (in short) low blood pressure. Instead of putting me on meds, the cardiologist told me to drink more fluid and put salt on everything lol. It helped, but I've developed quite a taste for salt.

My husband loves salt and sugar. But luckily he cut down on both.

His blood pressure went up with the salt.

How are your mood and anxiety, Bobby?

I think putting more pressure on yourself about overeating is just going to drive up your anxiety and cause you to eat and spend more. You can try to set some limits on your eating, but please be kind to yourself

I am so depressed. Each morning i wake up and get on the scale. I don't think I am going to the senior center. I am just going to eat some hard boiled eggs and have coffee. I am not going to physical therapy. My legs started cramping.
The other day I could hardly walk. I have been eating a lot of popcorn including the carmelized to get tins for the cats' food. No more. I have been buying chocolate.
Epic still hasn't cashed my check.

Many Chinese options are lower calorie.

I do not like Chinese often but these are ones I get:
  • Pork egg foo young without the sauce.
  • Sometimes I get steamed chicken and veggies.
Hubby likes big soups. He usually gets enough for two days.

Here are some supposedly low-ish calorie options:

Donna, all the REALLY GOOD stuff is REALLY BAD for you though lol.

I don't think it's a good idea for you to be weighing yourself every day right now, Bobby. It could just be adding to your depression. Maybe every three days for now?

Are you thinking about anything while you are eating a lot at once or buying things online, or are you just focused on what you are doing? I know when I was having so much trouble binge-buying and would troll eBay for something in particular I would just get totally fixated on finding what I wanted or bidding, so it was really hard to stop.

You may want to consider having your PCP draw some labs to check your vitamin and mineral levels. Low magnesium and potassium levels can cause leg cramping. Drinking more water and eating bananas if you like them may help a little…
But I know from experience that if the spasms are a direct result of a neurological problem and not from overuse from exercise or a vit/min imbalance they will continue to be a problem. Just stretching may help a little bit.

I wish you didn't have to deal with all you have to, Bobby
