Default I am feeling good

even though i am surrounded by problems I am feeling good. I just told off my nephew when he wished me a form letter wishing me a happy holiday and enjoying with my family. I said back at you, I hope that doesn't depress me.
I am sure i will lose all the weight i gained. I got my kitty cats. abby is now drinking out of the toilet.

I'm sorry that your nephew sent you something so impersonal, forgetting that he and his brother are your only family left. It was very insensitive of him, but a lot of people are in the habit of sending out those kind of cards to everyone during the holidays now and think nothing of it. I'm glad that you took the position you did and felt better after the response you gave him though

I hope it does not depress you later either
I think it was good that you let him know that his card was inappropriate given your situation, and the fact that you are related, and I think it was important that you allowed yourself the opportunity to vent.

I'm really happy that you are feeling good today and are feeling positive about your ability to lose the weight you have gained. Your PT can probably give you some light exercises to do at home that may help

My kitties are very important to me, too. I'm so happy to have them in my life. I love watching all the little things they do. Lots of animals like to drink from the toilet. I hope Abby doesn't fall in! Dottie likes to drink from the bathroom faucet.
You also have some very good friends in your life. That is something else to be thankful for

I'm glad that you are in a good place right now

i just think the whole thing is chemical. I have been so depressed and things have been working out. Yesterday abby and i fought over a piece of chicken. She bit me on two sides of my finger. boy did it hurt. I didn't get mad aat her.
it was my fault for being cute.
I don't think i will go to the senior center today. I am trying an apple diet. Now i am really afraid. Instead of all the thin people around I am thinking of all the fat people. I am not the only one.

A lot of mental illness is chemical. Not all of it, but a lot of it.

I wouldn't be mad at Abby either. I make the choice of allowing my cats to get too close when I'm eating, and giving them people food. They don't bite me, but if they did, I would understand.

I know it's hard not to compare your weight to others, but at the end of the day, you're all just people

That was a good link Mari, thank you.

I hit google looking for information about how they treat stroke irritability vs. irritability due to depression, but I couldn't find a single link that would be helpful. There are old studies out there that suggest that SSRIs like Prozac are beneficial though.

An article in the UK suggested patients with emotional changes like irritability should see neuropsychologists for evaluation and treatment, which I think may be worthwhile…

During neuropsychological testing, the doctor uses tests to determine what your particular problems are (such as the irritability and memory problems), and tries to determine what the causes are. Then he/she tries to come up with a plan to help you address the issues. They don't prescribe meds, but can help point you in the right direction. This is particularly helpful if you have more than one issue (the stroke and bipolar disorder) causing you problems.

I don't know if it's something that your neurologist would agree would be beneficial or not though. I've been through it twice, and while it was interesting, it wasn't helpful.
