I looked at my pre-op paperwork and it has the tall man lettering for all my meds. Here are the two in question: clonazePAM and cloNIDine
Because I haven't heard back from the hospital, I decided to err on the side of caution and hold the drug until after the surgery because I have no idea what the anesthesiologist would want me to do and I want to avoid any issues. I'm pretty disappointed that I'm going to have to wait because I think this med has potential, but I since it can effect blood pressure I think discontinuing it for now is the right choice. |
Kay,
You make good decisions. It would be nice if you had heard from the hospital so that you did not have to make the decision yourself. M |
Thank you Mari
They are very bad in that department. After they left a message for me telling me I needed to call them for a screening, nobody picked up the phone when I called, and my two messages back to them went unanswered for several days until someone in my GYN's office contacted them and told them they needed to call me. I called them Wednesday about the new med. When I didn't hear them by Friday, I made the decision to d/c the med on my own so there would be no surprises the day of the surgery. |
you made a wise decision.
bizi It is so frustrating waiting for a call..... |
Yeah, no call yesterday either.

I'm supposed to have a follow-up appointment with my pdoc re: the clonidine, but I haven't been taking it. First because of the surgery, and right now because I'm on Vicodin. I will have to reschedule it until next week.
