Once I got there the appointment went pretty much like I figured.

I locked my keys in my car at the gas station here in my little town
before I went. So it was a lot of anxiety as to whether I could
find a key or get there. Couldn't locate a extra key, but Dan loaned
me their van and off I went. Came back with my husband's key and
got the car after appointment.

Now for the appointment.
Two options: One kind of to do what was done last time. no biopsy
though just surgery.

But he really recommends a mastectomy. I'm leaning towards this
but really want a double forgot to ask. Kind of got chicken thinking
of it.

But I have a while to decide. And will probably call back and ask the nurse
to see what he thinks about the double.

Donna,

That is a lot to think about.
It seems that you trust your doctor.

I'm sorry that you locked your keys in your car. That's no fun, and yesterday was not the day to do it

A double mastectomy, or even a single one, is such a big decision to make. Bizi is right, you are very brave
I'm glad that you have time to think about what you want to do. It sounds like you have a loving and supportive family, and I hope that they will help ease some of the stress you must be feeling

How is your ankle doing? Has the swelling gone down? Are you getting around better?

My ankle is doing pretty well. I have to use the brace sometimes. But
around the house I am trying to walk on it so I wont have to.

I am just a realist I know that mastectomy is best for my health.
With the thought of the drains is one of the reason's I'm considering
double. Other is I just don't want more breast cancer if possible.

Just really bad time for all this.
But not sure there is a good time.

Donna,

If it is something that your doctors and you are comfortable with, and you are ready, it is the right time now.

Is there a rush? Can you wait a few months? Maybe you want more time so that you feel more comfortable

I'm ready and guessing if not in next few weeks would have to have the
other procedure and hope its not cancer.

But my main problem is life is busy all the time. So I'm maybe going
to miss some things I don't want to. But that is the way it goes.

I'm hoping for the week of May 8th through 12th I think it is.

Derrick has ECA's that Monday and Tuesday, and then its pretty free
of a week. I would probably or maybe miss district track. But I'd rather
miss it than State or even maybe Derrick's graduation.

I'm just trying to figure out how to call and ask nurse to ask him if we
can do double. I still think doing all at once would be best.
We will see.

What a tough decision to make… I hope that if I was in the same situation, I would have the same strength and wisdom to make the same one

You are right, there is no good time, but I understand your sense of urgency in case there is cancer present. There are many important things going on in your life, and it seems like you have done a good job of thinking things through and finding a time that will work out for you time-wise. I hope that you can get the surgery scheduled in that time frame.

thanks Ladies

From what the doctor said, I should be able to get it one day that week.

Now for looking or buying some things I didn't even think of. A bra camisole
type thing. So we will see, they are kind of expensive but will have to buy
a couple so I have enough for the drains.

The drains are what are freaking me out really.

The drains should not have to stay in very long.
You have so much on your plate.
