I'm sorry about your mother-in-law, Donna. This must be a very difficult time for your husband. I can understand why it would be hard to know what's appropriate to do regarding the birthday party, but you have very good judgement.

Seroquel is definitely sedating, but many people can get used to it over time. 25mg isn't a big dose. I hope he can build up a tolerance for it soon, but if it seems like the sedation isn't getting better in a week to ten days, you should contact his doctor because it's probably not the right med for him.

Kay

That is really good thinking. See he had an appointment and the add on
Wednesday and he has an appointment that was already scheduled
this next Thursday.

The big thing that is bugging me is I'm wondering why we never noticed
this in his teens. Or if it was more because he was still having seizures
a lot of the time weekly, or even daily at times. Which also makes
you very tired.

I really am hoping that instead of messing with meds this next Thursday
we will see him change the VNS setting and things. He was really
surprised at how low its set. THis is the one thing that has really
seemed to help him.

VNS setting is the time it goes off, I think its set for 3 minutes right now.

And then the degree of how high it sets for a charge is the only way I can
explain. And I totally agree with him its set to low. I've never understood
the reasoning for so low. Can't tell its going off or not know. And I'm guessing
its part of reason its hard to find it. Not really sure. He also has a eeg
on Saturday.

Now for my bad news. I seem to have the worst luck with my bones. I
had fallen yesterday and thought I'd maybe broke my foot or ankle at least
really bad sprain. But no it turns out that the screws or pins not sure what
they were called have come loose. And I'll have to go to my Ortho.

I called a little earlier and made an appointment. And hopefully my husband
will help me get there. If not I'll call my oldest and have him drive me.

I wanted to get a Walker that has a seat and can then be pushed. But my husband is balking at it. I wouldn't get it through the house. But I'm
supposed to have a wheelchair, and so we will see if he will go to his brothers
at some point and get it for me. I would really like to figure out the funeral and
go. Not sure I can. Thinking maybe Devin's Girlfriend would go and help me push it around if necessary. I wouldn't be able to go to the burial site right now.
And I'm guessing no to the funeral dinner. Not sure but think the church has
steps might have a ramp too. But I'm not wanting to put anyone out.

Oh Donna, I'm so sorry!!!

What bad luck… are you in a lot of pain?
I'm so glad that the ortho got you in so quickly. Some things are more urgent, so maybe they triaged you. I hope that this is something that they can remedy quickly for you so you won't need a wheelchair or walker for long. I hope your appointment goes well

Most churches and funeral homes have ramps. Please try not to think of needing help as asking putting others out. You are asking someone to just push you a little ways so you can pay your respects to your MIL and support your husband, not going to a beach party. I think it is a small favor considering you do so much for others

There are wheelchair rental places where you may be able to lay your hands on something more narrow and lighter to make life easier for you
