Hi Everyone

I spent a quiet weekend. I just think with the eclipse today it effected my head all weekend. Luckily I have just work from home today. I have
two conference's tomorrow. So its a long day with a phone conference in between.

Derrick is working at Purdue again, and loves it as usual. We are working to see if he can get into the Erskine Green Training program. We got all the paperwork in and at least 1/2 of his recommendation letters have gone in. So we will see, I hope he gets in with the funding paid through voc. rehabilitation. But that will be interesting to see.

Donna,

Good that you stayed home from work today.
:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:
'Glad to hear that Derrick likes working at Purdue.
I hope he gets into Erskine.

I hope that Derrick gets into that training program. It sounds like it would be a good thing. Is it the restaurant program that you were talking about before, or something different?

Dmom3005 08-22-2017 04:46 PM

Its the restaurant program.

I had two conferences today and good results.

Donna :grouphug::hug:

OhKay 08-23-2017 07:06 AM

I'm glad that the conferences went well :)

I remember you said that Derrick was excited about that program, so I really hope that the planets align and things work out for well him :hug:

Dmom3005 08-23-2017 08:49 AM

Me too. Everyone that has heard about the program thinks he would
be great in it. So hopefully soon we will hear about the next process.

I'm going to be gone and away from forums for the weekend. I'm going
to Kokomo for my mom's birthday.

I will, just a day later than I was thinking. Had a severe migraine that isn't completely gone. So tomorrow morning instead.

Today is tomorrow!

Have fun, Donna!

OhKay 08-25-2017 08:54 AM

Donna, are you taking anything for your migraines? I know you said you were taking Topamax in the past... but also mentioned on Bobby's thread that you had cognitive problems while on it...

I hope your migraine cleared up, and they don't become habit :hug:

Dmom3005 08-29-2017 06:49 PM

I didn't have cognitive problems with it. Derrick did for his seizures.

I have a rescue that I take sometimes. But my headaches aren't
usually as much migraines as sinus right now. I need to start something
for that.

I returned today. Had great time.

Welcome home!
I hope that your Mom had a great birthday with you and family.

M

Dmom3005 08-30-2017 10:18 AM

Yes she did. There were 14 or 15 of us at the table.

One of my nephews paid for her meal. And then the nephew
who is in Alaska, called her Friday night to tell her it was going
to be 11:00pm our time when he called on Saturday to wish her
a happy birthday. He is the cross country coach and was taking a
group in small planes to another meet.

OhKay 09-02-2017 09:16 AM

It's wonderful that your mom had 13-14 of you for her birthday dinner... I'm sure she really enjoyed that :)

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip, and I hope you get some relief from your sinus headaches soon.

Dmom3005 09-02-2017 06:25 PM

I honestly get rounds of the headaches, mainly when weather changes.

Everyone at Dan's house is sick, I took Kortni and Harmony to doctor on
Tuesday. Dan and her son OWen were sick by Wednesday. Looks like
they will need to go back or Harmony will Tuesday. And I'm guessing
she needs to force the two guys to go.

I took Meluvja and her son Anthony and My grandson Will to doctors
yesterday. Anthony, her other son Jason and Devin are all sick.
She is doing okay, and Will isn't sick right now. Will just wants whatever
anyone else is getting attention for.

I'm feeling good, I think Dale is just tired like me. From what I hear
Derrick is well. Seems his eating area was not open on Wednesday
because food poisoning was going around. And from what he said,
all the cooks went to er on Wednesday. Told him if he had been there
They probably would have made him because of his seizures. They
are very protective of him. Which I'm very glad for

He is at Indiana Beach and having a really nice day. I hope he has
a good rest of weekend. I will hopefully pick him up on Friday after
work for the rest of the weekend. Its our Dan Patch Weekend.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 09-07-2017 08:14 AM

I'm glad that you, Will, Derrick, and Dale have been spared from illness so far, but I hope you don't get sick from carting all those patients around!!!

I hope you have a great weekend! :):):)

Dmom3005 09-07-2017 12:15 PM

I plan to have a great weekend. Anytime Derrick is here I usually
enjoy myself very much even if not going anywhere.

Not sure how much of Dan Patch I'll get to go to. But Derrick can
either walk up and come back. Or we can arrange for me to pick him
up. His phone doesn't always work out here.

Or I can let him borrow my phone, and call home phone.

Now that might work, leave his here so he doesn't lose mine.

Derrick and I went to garage sales all day Saturday. Then he went
to help at Dan Patch Days Fish fry with the Lions Club which he is
an member of and they love it when he can help.

He helped serve the food, sounds like they had more of a crowd
than help. But he enjoyed himself. Some of the ladies he worked
with told me he knew exactly how much cole slaw to put on a plate.

And he was handing out fish and things when I went to see if he
was ready to come home. They kept it open I think for about 1 hour
or more than it was scheduled. So he came home with two plates
of fish. We gave one to my son Dan and Kortni. And one came
to the hubby. I don't really like fish from fish fries. But that was
okay.

Donna :grouphug::hug:

OhKay 09-11-2017 10:54 AM

Did you find anything good at the garage sales?

I'm glad Derrick had a good time. It sounds like he enjoys work, and is a very hard worker :)

Dmom3005 09-12-2017 11:34 AM

Derrick found some good buys. Even a few Christmas gifts.

He really has good taste in things to buy.

He bought himself an angel that plays music.

Donna :grouphug::hug:

Dmom3005 10-06-2017 12:00 PM

I've been reading threads, and keeping up.

I was sick all last week. And have tried catching up.

I am doing pretty good. Derrick had a seizure last Friday before
he should have caught his bus. And is doing well.

Then on Monday evening my best friend, and Derrick's provider
was in a major Accident. She was in hospital till yesterday, and
moved to a rehabilation center. We are celebrating Will's 11th
birthday tomorrow.

Seems my grand kids are getting older.

Donna :grouphug::hug:

mymorgy 10-06-2017 12:15 PM

oh boy you have been going through a rough period. Hope you feel better and are getting support.

lol

Dmom3005 10-06-2017 09:26 PM

Yes, and thank goodness Derrick has a new service coordinator. Who
has been taking care of things as much as she can.

This would not fair well if they weren't with Shannon out. And feeling bad
about being so. I'm doing what I can and then some.

Derrick is spending time here. Because on Tuesday or so we go to Kokomo
to visit mom and then we go to Muncie for his interview.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

Mari 10-06-2017 11:43 PM

Hi, Donna,

What is the interview in Muncie?

M

OhKay 10-08-2017 08:04 AM

I'm glad that Derrick is okay after his seizure and your best friend/his provider is doing okay. It's good that he has someone who is trying to take over some of her responsibilities so he is not left high and dry.

In the meantime, I bet you are happy that he is spending more time at home with you because you get on so well, even though it means you are having to take on more :hug:

Happy Birthday to Will! :)
And good luck to Derrick at his interview... I know it is very important to him :hug:

Dmom3005 10-08-2017 06:12 PM

Muncie, has a program called Erskine Green Training Institute, which
has lots of programs that they train disabled individuals for different
jobs.

Derrick wants In the kitchen cook program. He would like to do
more cooking at his job as time goes by. Not sure how well that
is going to work only because he can't work a lot more hours because
he gets tired and his other benefits.

But we will see how it goes.

i wish him the best of luck!
