MDOC sent the referral for the new Pdoc. I have to decide if I will have both hips xrayed by tomorrow. Will call my mdocs office and request both but only the left if she won't approve of both, my knees are really bothering me too.

I really am tired of the NAMI class.
I want to not go back.
I have a week to think about it.
I eat too much when I am there, they feed you. and I snack on candy to deal with stress. I am not really doing the work the way they want us to.

We are having a realtor come to the house tomorrow morning to look at our home for an estimate on what the house is worth. We are going to have some work done on the house. We already took out a tree in the back yard. They grinded the stump really well.

The yard is a mess.

It is possible that a Medical Psychologist is only allowed to prescribe
medications from a certain list.

In other words, she might not be able to get creative.


I do hope you find a good doctor who can prescribe the med/s you need.

Re NAMI:

Some people do well in groups.
Some, not so much.


There is nothing wrong with recognizing that NAMI is not working for you.
Perhaps in the future you could try them again.

I am curious about the same thing... what can and can't a medical psychologist prescribe? Maybe just not narcotics? Hopefully she can prescribe Klonopin. If she saw your medalist, I'm sure she would have told you she could not prescribe it, or other meds on it tho.

Osteoarthritis is "regular" arthritis. About your back... if you have a disc herniation, it may not show up on a plain X-ray. But even if you do, it can still be treated with PT. I hope that you do get your hips X-rayed, since they seem to bother you the most, maybe even an MRI since you have met your deductible since plain X'rays don't show soft-issue injuries. I don't see why your mdoc would object. Maybe hold off on the knees for now tho... ?

I vote "no" on the NAMI class. It seems that you aren't getting anything out of it that your therapist can't offer you one-on-one, which is probably better for you.

My current pdoc and decided that the abilify was not working well for me.
so we are going back to geodon which is weight neutral. Seroquel and abilify are both weight gainers. My sleep has not been great so we added 3mg of melatonin. So I am willing to try. She agreed to let me have the .5mg klonipin again, discontinuing seroquel and abilify.
She is titrating rather quickly in one week my meds will be:

geodon 80mg twice a day
lamictal 200mg twice a day
seroquel 25mg at noon for anxiety
naltrexone 50mg at noon
.5mg of klonipin at bed time
3mg of melatonin 2 hours before bed time
and the rest are over the counter

I had my knees and hips and pelvis xrayed today, will get the results on monday I believe. Everything should be on the portal/on-line by next week.
My neck showed osteoarthrtis, which is just regular arthritis....
anyway.
I hope it is arthritis and not something horrible.

I don't think the Ability was good for you, so I'm glad you are going off of it. I understand your concerns about weight gain, so I understand why you chose to go back on the Geodon, tho I'm not so sure it's the best fir either.

She is changing your meds very quickly, so you will have to be EXTRA VIGILANT, and let her know about any changes IMMEDIATELY, so she can slow down the Ability taper.

I'm glad you are getting all the X-rays. You may have arthritis in your neck, but that doesn't mean it is the cause of the pain in your hips and knees. X-rays can diagnose it as the cause and you can get treatment for your arthritis, or you can at least exclude it and get treatment for whatever else it may be

My pdoc pointed out that I was hypomanic in march while taking the geodon....Before the med change...so I still think I will need something else to control my episodes.

I just got the call from my PCP's nurse. So now have arthritis in both my knees and hips with the right hip especially and my neck.
At least it is not fibromyalgia!
She will probably prescribe mobic or something else, will wait and see. I am afraid to take anything that could damage my liver or kidneys....
