Bizi,

There are lots of physical therapy type exercises for the knees that can be helpful -- basically strengthen muscles in the legs and such.
inner thigh muscles - Google Search

They can usually be done on the floor or in a chair. Youtube prolly has some but look for a professional video.
Also for the hips.

I do not know much about the neck. Ask if it is o.k. to use perhaps either a cooling pad or a heat pad for a few mins.

Depending on what your doc says, swimming can be helpful because it is not weight bearing.

Heart

Back in March/April When I had my right hip pain, I just went to PT with out going to the doctor. I then went to a chiropractor for xrays and an adjustment.
The then PT gave me many exercises to do and one of them caused my lower back to hurt. And then I got lazy and stopped all of my exercising, I did them twice a day for a month then stopped. My hip got better until a couple of weeks ago. My left hip started bothering me and hurting then both hips then my knees. I went in asking for a referral for a new pdoc and mentioned my joints and asked about fibromyalgia. She xrayed neck and back, hips and knees.
Only the back did not show arthritis, all 3 others showed osteoarthritis....
I will be able to read the full report by next week, I hope.

Will meet up with the new PT this week and go from there.
I asked my PCP about cymbalta, she had already ordered mobic, but her nurse said she would ask her about ordering it for me.....

We went to trivia tonight, small crowd. We won 2nd place after a tie breaker. That was fun.

Have a good weekend Y'all!

A lot of people still have episodes on meds that mostly work for them. Seroquel has been VERY good for me, but I still rapid cycle. What has helped for me is identifying episodes early and tweaking my meds a little to shut down episodes fast before they snowball… you don't do that.

There are off-label add-ons (like low-dose gabapentin) that could help, but you should have opted to try a different heavy hitter instead of Geodon if you don't think it will be enough for you. There are alternatives to Seroquel and Abilify out there, but your current pdoc is shitty.

Let's see how you do changing back to Geodon for now… to see if your episodes lessen or become milder before you think about changing anything else… this taper is already going fast… you are changing a lot right now.

I would wait before changing anything else.

I'm glad you had fun at trivia and came in 2nd place!!!

The arthritis will probably rule out Fibromyalgia.

Your mdoc will likely put you on some kind of anti-inflammatory and want you to go to PT, too. It's good to ask questions about meds, but I would see what she suggests first. Mobic or Diclofenac would probably be hard on your stomach long-term. I can't take Diclofenac at all anymore (or even Advil because of the damage it did).

Finished lunch, chicken and sausage gumbo and slaw. yum!
Having a friend coming over to help with paper work, thankful for her. (She just got here).
Need to come up with a halloween costume tonight for the party we are going to this evening. It is after the ULL orchestral concert. Every one will be in costume at the party. Fun!
Doing a load of scrubs, have to baby sit them as they wrinkle real easily and I refuse to iron them.
I am dressed in all black so far....need to come up with something.

I will be wearing black bunny ears and Black pants and
turtle neck with a red and black boa and
a white face mask like a skeleton and zebra glovelets.
I think I will be cold but the face mask should help to keep me warm.
Will wear this to both the concert and the party.

I don't think adding another med is a good idea...

I think that making a couple of simple changes to your diet while you switch back to Geodon could make a big difference:

You could try to stop clearing you plate (as hard as that may be), and try not to use too many condiments or dressings, and cut down on the heavy sauces.

I know it's tempting to take the easy way out, but Glucophage has a lot of side effects.

I hope you had a great time at the party... your costume was awesome!!!
