thanks kay!
I survived the christmas party!
I came prepared.
Purse with makings for tea including cup and stevia to sweeten the tea and gum in case I needed to eat/chew something sweet.
At 6;30 I was hungry so Before going there I ate a slice of cheddar cheese and a handful of smoked almonds,
At the party This is what I ate:
a bowl of smoked cod chowder(like potato soup)
3 small slices of cheese and 2 small crackers.
small orange, luscious pear, one small bite of just fair chocolate moose...
(I don't know how to spell it)
came home at 10;30 and ate a small bag of pop corn.
I came in 3rd for the ugly christmas sweater contest.
LOL
and the best part: I knew almost every one there so not much social anxiety!!! We have on e more gathering to go to on tuesday nite, I already packed my silver purse with tea bags, cup etc so that is ready to go.
There will be quite a few people I don't know. Yikes!
I drank nothing but tea, I socialized and was not anxious, I managed to eat health foods, I did not pick at my fingers or face.
It was a successful evening.:)

I think a little fear is a natural reaction :hug::hug:

I wish you the best of luck... hoping the procedure goes well, you have a speedy recovery, and your biopsy results are negative :hug::hug:

I will be thinking of you.
Please update us when you are up to it :hug::hug:

I'm proud of you for staying strong at the Christmas party. I'm glad that you found an alternative to alcohol and came prepared :hug::hug:

I'm happy that you didn't have to deal with your usual social anxiety

Thanks Kay!
The christmas party this tuesday was canceled due to the host's being ill.
They said they will reschedule the party.

Jeff and I put up the christmas tree the middle section of lights were off and we could not understand why. We decided that the little 4 foot tree gave us 17 years so it was time for a new one.
So we went to several places and decided on a 5 foot tree, it was a display model. So we lugged it back home to find that the old trees lights were mysteriously all on! Well we decided to keep the new tree and put it up and decorated it and put the little tree on the dining room table and decorated that as well...all white lights. So pretty. We listened to christmas music while decorating, since it was a bigger tree jeff went up into the attic and pulled down the rest of the christmas decorations boxes and we used ones from years gone by some 20 years! It was fun going thru the boxes.

Had a good healthy dinner of a piece of cheese, salmon and mixed veggies.
Just a little hungry tonight but will drink a big glass of water while I take my nite meds.
Guess I am trying to shrink my stomach.

While listening to some blue grass music, I actually sat and read part of the sunday paper: stories about americans doing great things for this country. USA today wrote this supplement. It was very inspiring! I read the whole thing. I can't remember the last time I sat and read something. It took me about an hour.

Sent some christmas cards today, finished organizing my gift cards and such. Awaiting hickory farms gift boxes, they are late in being delivered. I am giving them as partial gifts to my family members.

Ordered tickets for the new years eve bash in a little town called franklin south of Indy. My twin and I usually spend our birthdays together. Our friends want to go as well. Even my brother in law wants to go with us.
It should be fun!

Oh ya, I Took a broom to the den floor and swept up cat hair. Did a load of laundry.

Supposed to get down into the upper 30's again tonight, burr!

Am seeing Robin my tdoc, tomorrow morning.
Am feeling pretty happy today. Don't want to jinx myself but I am feeling pretty stable.
It has been along time coming.:)

Let the staff know how you are feeling so they can make you feel more comfortable and check you out if necessary to make sure you are safe for surgery :hug::hug:

Best of luck friend :hug::hug::hug:
