I just heard one of them say that the bill is to harsh.

I guess they are going to spin the news, and change it around.

The guy said his bosses are who he represents (Voters) in his State, and not the president.

I wonder what the news is going to say next. I hope that it's only speculation.
This has been a horrible weekend!!! BF

Oh yes. I think that I saw the one on TV that you were talking about. I don't want to say anything about him because that would be a political comment. BF

The "CBO score" for this bill from the congressional budget committee is expected "as early as today" and it will give an estimate of what this bill is expected to do/not do, and what it will cost in its current state. It should be interesting, but probably jarring.

I heard that if there is "more money left over," whatever that means, they may expand Medicade further, but IDK about the likelihood of that.

I understand your anger, BF. You have every reason to be angry

The problem with making changes to the healthcare system is that the changes are always going to effect the most vulnerable of us because we are the ones who utilize the system the most. And because of medical and mental healthcare problems, a lot of people end up relying on programs like Medicaid. I think it's massive abuses in that system that have led to it growing out of control and the increased calls for cuts to it, endangering people who really need it... people like you, my friend

In Indiana because I don't know how other states Medicaid waivers work.
It will really effect the people like Derrick that have finally gotten the
waivers. Along with regular Medicaid. Its really going to make a mess
also especially for those children that really need more medical than
other kids. Our advocates are calling and sitting in every day or two.

I am 59 and have a few more years before it will effect me. But with
all the health issues I've been having. Wow,

Donna

Senator Schumer of New York says the Healthcare bill is rotten to the core. I saw that live on Tuesday afternoon, and put it in my Facebook page.

They are going to put off the vote because they know that they will not win, unless they have done something between when I saw that yesterday afternoon, and now.

They will have to change the Bill.

I'm glad that we have advocates. I don't think that allot of people know what Medicaid is, including the Senators.

One thing that it does is help people with Mental Health issues, and help them afford their medications. That's what the original bill was to help with.

I just have not been myself recently. I feel really bad, and feel like I've broken up inside a little. I don't know how to explain it. I feel deeply discouraged, and uninterested in a lot of things right now. My future hope is compromised. If they change the bill I will feel better. My therapist doesn't think that I will be affected because of my age. I don't know.

I'll go to CNN, and check it again. I don't know what they have said, or done in the last six hours. BF

Your therapist is probably right.

Medicare is safer than medicaid.

=-=-

The politicians know exactly who is on medicaid:
1) Half of babies born in this country are born to mothers with medicaid.
2) 1.75 million veterans veterans (young and old) are on medicaid
3) 34,800,000 children (Almost 36 million) are on medicaid

They will have to do a lot to the bill because there are 9 Republican senators opposing it- moderates and conservatives, and they want very different things. Most of the moderates are opposed to cutting Medicaid expansion. The bill would do that over time, so your therapist is right… it's unlikely to effect you because of your age, but also because you qualified for Medicaid before the expansion when Obama Care went into effect. I'm sure you would qualify for extra help when you get on Medicare.

It sounds like you are depressed, BF
I hope that it is only situational. That would make sense because of everything that is going on, but it is something to keep an eye on

Please walk away from the news. It is causing you grief. Perhaps if you can focus on other things then you could feel better.
Worrying will not help you, it only hurts you.
I am sorry you struggle so much.

Can anyone clarify," The Mental Health Parity, and addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) of 2008 that was signed into law at some point in the last ten years. Are they trying to forget, and under mind that? My reading problem is getting a little worse, so I cannot read all of the information on it. Are they going to try to throw that under the bus?

The news has changed today. They have had 24 hours to scramble the outcome of information of what was said yesterday.

Again please forgive me. I'm not myself recently. I don't feel good about anything I see on the news. They have expert talkers on these news channels on TV that confuse the issues, and are talking like they represent everyone. There are speculations, and opinions according to what they want I believe. They don't speak for everyone. It's ruff listening to it. BF
