I'm taking Mucinex DM... it has guaifenesin and the active ingredient in Delsym cough syrup, but in pill form and it lasts 12 hours.
I took an early shower and feel a lot better. IDK. I may go to the grocery store. I haven't decided yet. I was in A LOT of pain for a long time and wasn't taking anything more than Tylenol or Advil. I don't think either one of them did anything, and I sucked it up. I'm sure I can still do that... I'm leaning towards having another round of injections in my neck. I think the shots are my best chance at helping the pain in the long term. I'm also going to look into medical marijuana for the pain and spasticity in my legs at night ONLY. I want to see what they need for medical records. I have old ones that are extensive and don't mention my BP at all. I'm hesitant tho because I don't know how it would interact with the Seroquel... I'll probably chicken out. I know it DOES WORK tho because I was using it occasionally in 2014 while I was on lithium. |

I will look into the medical marijuana this weekend, but it would be a lot easier (and cheaper) just to buy it. I will ask my brother if any of his friends still sell it. Our upstairs neighbors smoke constantly, and openly, but I don't feel comfortable asking them where they get it/if they can get me some yet.
I did go to the supermarket. Driving really aggravates my neck pain, so that was worse than my shoulder pain by the time I got home. 6 of this... 1/2 a dozen of that... or whatever the expression is... I couldn't take a nap AGAIN because I couldn't get comfortable. But I was exhausted, so I passed out when my head hit the pillow around 9pm and I slept until about 7am. I plan on doing absolutely nothing today. |

oh kay I am so sorry you were not able
to get your nap in, glad that you slept last night. I can't imagine what pain you must be in and how much it is affecting your life right now. So glad that you can sleep at night though. ((((((HUGS)))))) bizi

NO NAP AGAIN.
I guess I can only sleep if I'm so exhausted that my meds actually sedate me and put me out (something they stopped doing some time ago). Last night I took 1/2mg of Klonopin to make sure that they would, and I didn't wake up until about 7 (with the cough again). Otherwise, I think I actually slept right through the night. The Pats are playing the Jets at 1pm today. I hope they play better, and I can stay engaged enough to watch it. I did nothing yesterday, as planned. I have the same plan for today. This is only possible because I cleaned thoroughly during the week. |

I didn't even try to lay down for a nap yesterday. I was exhausted, but I was in so much pain I knew it was a waste of my time. I fell asleep sitting up on the couch somewhere around 8pm, when Corey woke me up and told me to go to bed.
We watched the Pats game together. They won, but they still have a lot of work to do. I wasn't as frustrated, and was able to watch the whole game. I think part of the problem is that we have been spoiled in New England for a long time, and I'll admit that  I planned on doing laundry today, but I have an appointment with the urologist at 3:30pm. It was a pretty stupid plan, since we have plenty of clean underwear, and I have nothing to do tomorrow. I don't know why I set these unrealistic goals for myself, but I have to stop doing it. I did screw myself by making two doctors' appointments on Friday- one with the ortho, the other with my neurologist. I don't know when, or if, the physiatrist will respond to the message I sent him, but I've decided I want to try another round of injections in my neck. I don't see the physiatrist again until the end of November unless he decides he wants to see me sooner. Corey wants me to lay on the couch and rest today, and hopefully nap, before my appointment this afternoon. I'll do that if I can get at all comfortable (doubtful). I don't like the idea of driving that late in the day without a nap beforehand... I am still coughing, but the Mucinex DM is making things much, much more bearable. |

I went to see the urologist...
I had an ultrasound done on the 6th, and pparently I have calcium deposits in my kidneys (nephrocalcinosis). He thinks it could be because I'm taking Topamax, but I bet it's because of all the lithium I've taken. I have a yearS-long history of hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in the blood), but my PCP has NEVER followed up on it, so I'm pretty p***ed right now. The results of my kidney function tests have also been borderline for a while... I've questioned him about it, and he said there was nothing to worry about  I see a nephrologist on the 24th (next Tuesday). Maybe everything will be okay now that I'm no longer taking lithium?!? I am ****ing falling apart!!! |
