As soon as Corey got up, he started in about the f- AC. I told him to cut the s- and just drop it because it was a stupid fight, and that seemed to restore normalcy almost immediately.
The halter monitor was supposed to stop recording immediately at 8:51am yesterday, but it didn't. I was so anxious to take the friggen thing off, I called cardiology at 9, and they said to ignore it, and just take it off... OMG, I have TERRIBLE BRIGHT RED WELTS where the electrodes were. No wonder why I was so itchy!!! There are tiny bubbles on the skin, which is broken in some areas, and there is weeping in some places, too. I washed with Aveeno body wash and put lotion on them before treating them with a combo of hydrocortisone cream and Neosporin. They have dried out, and are feeling less itchy now, and more on the sore side. I wish I had the stupid thing on yesterday because I had a very, very hard day even though I just went to CVS (to buy milk and TP) and the butcher shop. There's NO WAY I could have made it through the grocery store. (Hopefully) I will go food shopping tomorrow after my pdoc appointment and I drop the monitor off at the hospital. I haven't been able to access the report from the echocardiogram yet. I'm SO IMPATIENT I'll be checking constantly to see if it is available. I picked up on something I missed on one of the EKG reports from the day I was in the ER, so I'm more nervous now. I hope that it was an over-read or an error or something... |
i wonder if you are allergic to the tape/adhesive???
Glad that is done. Good luck with all that you have to do today. (((((HUGS))))) bizi |
I'm sensitive to some kinds of tape and bandaids. I'm surprised that I didn't have any reaction where the tape was. I've had electrodes on me for extended periods of time before (halter monitor and in the hospital) and I just experienced mild skin irritation. I'm pretty sure the problem was that the tech "scored" my skin (scratched it up with something) with something before putting the electrodes on so that they would stay on better- even though I protested. I will be providing "feedback" when I return the monitor today.
The welts have dried out and shrunken, and they aren't painful or itchy anymore, and instead of being bright red, they are pink and yellow now. I am SO RELIEVED my echocardiogram report was normal!!! :):):):):) It wasn't a perfect study... the cardiologist couldn't see/assess some things. so maybe it will have to be redone down the road, but right now I'm a very happy camper. The ER MD had speculated that the left atrium of my heart may be enlarged... I'm glad he was wrong :D I am feeling better about the odds of the halter monitor study coming back normal (or close to it) now. I hope that will make the wait for the results easier. Hopefully the ER MD's other hypothesis is proven to be wrong, too. Corey was in a lousy mood all day. A lot of that is every Sunday he dreads going back to work the next day and gets anxious, but he was worse than normal. I got the impression that maybe I didn't squash the fight from Saturday night like I thought I did, but there's no way to get answers out of him if he decides he doesn't want to talk. |
so great about the results! the helter is a bummer. I think i wore it for a week and they called me once when one got detached. You are living with a tiger who is spoiled

Thank you ladies! :grouphug:
I think the longer I go without hearing about the halter monitor results, the better the odds are that they will come back normal. So, right now, I'm feeling cautiously optimistic. I still haven't gotten a call back from my gastro's office about the results of the defecography study. I will have to call back again today. The "longer it takes the better" doesn't apply to these test results... their office just stinks. I feel better this morning than I have in weeks (knock on wood). I'm still having the same symptoms, but they've been happening less often so far today. I still have to clean the cat boxes, take a shower, etc. so we'll see what happens. I have had a really hard time with prescriptions... On Monday, my pdoc wrote me scripts for Klonopin (4 pills left) and Topamax (3 pills left). CVS called and left a message while I was driving, and I got another call from them, which I answered, when I got home... The pharmacy tech told me that they had no Klonopin, neither did any other CVS's in the area, and they had no idea when it would come in because there was a problem with the manufacturer. She said they were recommending people ask their providers to write "alternate scripts." I clarified that point with her, and by that she meant a similar med like Xanax vs. Klonopin! Then I listened to the voice mail. Apparently they were also out of Topamax, which was on "special order," and the message said they would call me when the script was filled. No time table. I called and left a message for my pdoc about the Klonopin, and she had one of the secretaries call around. As it turns out, the pharmacy I used to go to had it in stock! I was in the area getting my nails done yesterday, so it ended up working out perfectly! :) I also needed Synthroid (3 pills) from my PCP, which was called in right away with no issues, and Protonix (1 pill) from my gastro. When I went to pick up my Klonopin yesterday, I had to wait for them to fill the Protonix because my gastro's office called it in to the wrong pharmacy AGAIN despite trying to change my pharmacy info 3 times. At least I didn't have to make a separate trip to go pick it up. Anyway, I got a call this morning saying the Topamax is ready, so when I go to my local CVS today I will finally have everything I need. I hope I get an opportunity to take a survey this visit because I am BS. Obviously the issue with the Protonix wasn't their fault tho. I went grocery shopping yesterday, which was NOT fun. But I have no obligations for today or tomorrow. I just have to get to a body piercer at one point to put 2 pairs of my cartilage earrings back in because I can't, and Corey won't even try to do it since I changed the jewelry. He was in a much better mood yesterday. Thank God for small favors. |
yes thank God for small favors!
(((((HUGS)))) Glad that you got your meds filled. bizi |
Yesterday did not end up being a good day :(
I did spent more time sitting on my a- than I have in a long time. I didn't get out to have my earrings put in, and I didn't get any cleaning done, but I absolutely had to go to CVS, and that was hard enough. At least now I have all the meds I need. I still haven't gotten any test results yet. I will call the gastro today to get the results of the defecography study. By now, the NP and/or gastro have had enough time to read the report, and if I call EARLY, someone should be able to find the time to call me back, but their follow-up is terrible, so IDK. I'm not exactly eager to get the results of the halter monitor right now because I'm nervous about it again. I hope to do some light cleaning today, and ideally get out to have my cartilage jewelry put back in. Realistically, it would be nice if I could get any of that done... I have NO energy. I bought myself a new purse online yesterday. I had to buy the wallet off of Amazon because the website I bought the bag off of didn't have one that I liked. I can't wait for them to arrive... I need a little pick me up right now! :) |
they are good antidepressants aren't they?
