Corey has a very good job, and his company does drug testing, but they don't really do it. If they did test him, or he ever got pulled over, he would definitely still be drunk some mornings... and he knows he goes to work smelling like alcohol sometimes. But the potential consequences are not enough to get him to stop because he's a hard core alcoholic, and he doesn't want to stop/isn't ready to.
He hasn't had a drink since Tuesday tho. So, obviously he has been thinking about his problem. I hope he starts to make changes that stick this time.

I was thinking about his recent struggles yesterday, and I started to wonder if he's drinking heavier more often out of anxiety/worry about my health problems. He suffers from an untreated anxiety disorder and depression (and maybe more). I'll have to find a good time this weekend to talk to him about it. If that's what's going on, maybe bringing it into the light will help him deal with it better.

Bobby, I have calcium deposits in my kidneys that are different than kidney stones. The condition is called nephrocalcinosis. I don't know what is causing it. I see a new nephrologist March 5th (the other one doesn't know his ***** from his elbow). Hopefully he can figure it out, it's not something bad, and my prognosis is good. They treat the condition that is causing the calcium deposits. The calcium deposits usually don't go away.

Yesterday I was in and out of the laundromat in about 2 hours
That's how it should be!!! It wasn't terribly busy, and less things were broken. Yesterday was the first time in a long time that doing the laundry went smoothly

I see my pdoc this morning, and then I'm going to have my hair cut. I can't remember the last time I blow dried my hair, so I'm going to have my hairdresser do it for me this time (I usually don't bother with that) so Corey can see how I look. Then I'll probably put it back up lol.

Corey can take medications if he has a prescription for them. I got him to go to a pdoc and tdoc at one point, but it lasted less than 3 months, and he's said he'll never go back again. I've suggested he go back at times when I thought he needed to, but bringing it up just p****s him off, so I've stopped trying.

I talked to him last night, and he said worrying about my health problems was definitely one of many things that gives him anxiety and may be causing him to drink heavier/more often. He said he always has a lot on his mind, but doesn't want to talk about anything. I let him know I'm here to listen if he changes him mind.

He can control his drinking for varying stretches of time, but eventually falls back into old patterns. He doesn't want to have these problems, but addiction is not easy. I know he struggles. Last night he drank, but he made an effort not to start too early, and he didn't drink too much even though it's the weekend. I'm going to try to stay optimistic.

My hair is cut at a pretty sharp angle- shorter at the back and longer in the front. I used to have the front cut below my chin, but it's down to about my collar bone now. I don't like the way it looks down at all. It's too long, and not flattering for my face shape, but it has to be long so I can put it all up. I had 2 1/4" cut off this time, but Corey was shocked at how long it is because I NEVER wear it down. He said it looked very pretty. A compliment!

Yesterday's weight: 147.8lbs
Last night I remembered I had chocolate and butterscotch chips (for baking) in the cupboard, and couldn't help getting into those. I doubt that will make a difference tho. I usually either don't gain weight or lose some when I cheat. I don't know if I will weigh myself today.
I think I'll stop trying to lose weight at 140lbs. I'm 5'9". I want to have some meat on my bones in case I get really sick.

I hit the butcher shop yesterday, but never made it to the grocery store because it started raining. I'll have to go today, but I'm not happy about it. Food shopping on the weekend is no fun.

Boy, have I been cheating on my diet! I'm sure I have gained some weight, but I'm not going to weigh myself until I get back on my horse and ride.

I ironed the new bed skirt Saturday (what a PITA) and Corey helped me put it on after he rotated the mattress. The new sheets I ordered off of Amazon arrived a little while later, so I put those on the bed, too. I would have preferred to wash the very nice sheets first, but I'm otherwise very pleased with the look and feel of the bed

Yesterday was a bad day. I ended up taking a 5 hour nap and still woke up feeling like crap. I had no problems falling asleep or staying asleep last night tho, and I woke up feeling better this morning. Thank God.

I have an appointment with the physiatrist (pain doc) this morning. I have a lot of things to discuss with him (shoulder, neck, etc). He had wanted to see the CAT scan images of my abdomen because the radiologist noted "scattered degeneration of the visualized skeleton," and he wanted to find out exactly what the radiologist was referring to. I'm glad someone is addressing that. I have back and hip problems, and those structures should have been visible on the CAT scan.

It will kinda be a busy week for me. Not happy about that.

My appointment from this morning was rescheduled until March 19th. It's not like it was the appointment with the new nephrologist, so I think I will live.

I looked up the radiologist report from my recent MRI and there were no new significant findings. It mentioned a cyst in my brain that I already knew was there, but no radiologist reports from THIS hospital has ever noted, and no neurologist has ever talked to me about, but I'm sure they could see it on MRIs. It's a benign pituitary cyst/adenoma. It's really not a big deal, but it could cause symptoms, and I just think it's funny how much doctors don't tell you. Cyst in her brain? Oh, she doesn't need to know about that lol.

I'm glad I didn't have any active lesions. I will go back on the Tysabri if the new nephrologist says it's okay.

Kay,

It's pretty cool that you can go online to look at your own reports but it seems that a neuro would have called you about it.

I hope the new nephrologist is helpful.

My access to ALL my lab and radiology reports is fairly recent. I'm particularly happy I can view my lab test results online now. In the past, I didn't know that my kidney function tests were so poor, and my old PCP never mentioned them or followed up on them. You better believe that had I known what was going on, I would have pushed for further testing. Now look where I am. I'm pretty sure that I'd be better off had he followed up on those test results years ago. I'd like to know why he didn't. I would ask him, but he's retired now.

Last month, I had to send a form to Quest (private lab) to get old "archived" lab results from 2015-16 faxed to the new nephrologist. I got a letter back a couple of days ago telling me that I had to resubmit my request because there were no results from that time period, which I know to be false. When I called, the woman on the phone said they couldn't find my records using "just" my name, DOB and last 4 of my SSN. They needed dates- bulls***. I ended up having to pay the f***ers $10 to get access my old records (which belong to ME) through my online account, and there they all were... TONS of them. What a SCAM. I was f***ing BS. I have to print out all of my records and bring them with me on Monday. I'm sure I'll need to hit Staples to buy more ink... again.

I have been feeling absolutely miserable, but I got my nails done yesterday morning (they are purple and beautiful) and went to PetSmart to buy another scratching post because the cats are destroying the couch. When I got home, I somehow forced myself to really sweep and swifter the hard floors well before I crashed.

I was probably asleep for 10 minutes before Corey burst into the bedroom screaming at Dottie for going around the scratching post (which I put directly in front of the area they scratch), and by 4:30 I still couldn't fall back to sleep, so I just got out of bed. I almost lost my s*** when I saw that Corey cut his toenails in the living room and left all the clippings all over my clean floors. I made him get out the dustbuster and get rid of them immediately. I should not have had to tell him to do that. What an a**hole.

Corey put saran wrap around the entire area they scratch the most (I hope it holds), but they may just start to scratch the chair or other areas of the couch more. There were already 2 cat condos with scratching posts in the living room, I just cut their nails 2 days ago, I have 3 Feliway diffusers in the apartment, and I spray the furniture with it every morning. I'm spending a mint on this Feliway crap and they are STILL scratching the furniture. They are terrible cats!!! They were good about it for a while. I don't know why they started doing it again

I have a dentist appointment at noon, and have to drop the rent check off on the way. I'll have to leave early because I'm sure Janet (from the leasing office) and I will get caught up in conversation. The couple who live above us split up. But it's not a surprise. Long story.

I'm getting very nervous about the appointment with the nephrologist on Monday. I hope the doctor is competent and nice. I don't know what to expect... probably more testing, and more waiting

do you think that your kitty cats are picking up all the stress you have been under and then compounding it?
