I think that is a good question, Mari.

Is it that strong bond and everything that entails, is it defending someone you love against possible abuse or accusations from others, or both?

I think it is both. It is being there for someone even when something better comes up and listening even when you are not in the mood but the person need s support. I hadn't thought of trusting someone but that is so important rather than a one way street. a best friend tried to steal a boyfriend. I stayed friends with her which was sick
