so far nobody has shown up for the stroke forum but I am hoping some doctors might. I used to be very sharp. Now I notice delays in my thoughts. Having to wait to think of one word after another. I have to look up news about google and walmart so I thought of google and noticed the delay about walmart. I don't know if I want support or information. I am so tired. everything is stressful. i haven't been falling lately but i have been bumping into things. I don't use my cane in my apartment. I haven't felt like doing anything

 There is no way of knowing. But it also might be that no one else thinks the group is active.I know that its not an stroke group. But the post concussion group I think is its name is active. And honestly some of the things that happen to you would fall in that category also. The forgetting, having to think of answers, the time from wanting to know to thinking of the name of what you want to know. I know I have dealt with thoughts of damage to the brain from the multiple concussions I have had. And the falls that come with some of these. Donna

i just realized i just started again on double dose of topamax. i thought u was going to run out. maybe that is the memory thingie.

I really think it is topamax because unless i have had another stroke I am doing wild things with my memory. I forgot to close the screen door on the terrace and just closed the other other door. just now with my keurig i forgot to put the cup down as the coffee started coming down. I will give it a couple more days and if it persists I will call my doctor and see if I can go off it and see if that is the culprit

It could easily be the problem. I know when Derrick was on Topamax he had memory problems. And took 5 minutes to answer most questions. Donna

I'm sorry that you're having those problems and that they scared you
I have also heard that Topamax can cause cognitive problems. I hope that cutting your dosage helps with the issues you are having I'm glad you haven't been falling I don't use my cane in my apartment either. It's a PITA. |
