I'm so sorry about your fall Bobby. Thank God you didn't hurt yourself!:hug::hug:

Your PCP should be able to easily arrange for home PT for you, but you could also ask your neurologist. The home PTs will set realistic goals for you and give you the right exercises that are easy to do. I think it is the best way for you to do it

It's so hard to accept major life changes like you are facing now. I think it's normal to go in and out of denial so you don't have to constantly dwell on it, but you have to think about it enough so that you can face problems and adapt. I think you do a better job at that than you think :hug::hug:

I hope that you have a good time out with your friend. I'm glad that you plan on getting a ride even though it's close by. I would need to get one, too.

last week i fell in my apartment but i was alone. there were people in the lobby who saw me fall this time. I was so embarrassed. I didn't know I could ask my primary care doctor. I have an appointment with him in less than a month

You could actually call and ask for home PT Before your visit.

you mean call my primary doctor without seeing him?

Bobby

Yes, if you explain the situation to the pcp they would be glad to
work it out. Let them know about all the falls. And that you
have an appointment ___________ and would need home PT.

Explaining the reasons. I would explain to go somewhere else
because of the risk of falling you would have to have someone
available all the time in the beginning at least to go with you.

Donna.

Your PCP should be your #1 point of contact for everything. If he can't get you what you need, it's his job to refer you to the proper person who can.

I call mine for minor **** like sinus infections or UTIs and he calls in scripts for me. Some doctors do insist on an examination for everything, but my doctor doesn't want me to have to go in for everything. I have to go in today tho.

It makes sense for you to call him since you are "home bound," cannot drive, have a hard time getting around, and are having these falls now. It would be hard for you to get to the office...

I would call the office and ask to speak directly to a nurse and explain the situation and see if your doctor can at least get the process started.

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time, Bobby :hug::hug:
And I'm sorry you had that public fall, too. It is VERY embarrassing

the social worker said she will get in touch with me on monday and give me the name of the p.t. agency. Then I guess I should call my general practitioner.
I think he is there only three days a week. I can't believe that is will run smoothly. I realized last night I did hurt myself a little when I fell but it could have been another fall. I take almost five minutes to get out of the bathtub. there I am so cautious and now I am cautious taking turns. It is a good incentive to keep things off the floor.
bobby
ps. I guess the people in the lobby must have held their breath to see if i could get up.lol
