Believe me I let everyone support me.

My mother's name is/was Sylvia Dyer.

She had an great showing and service. She was very loved by
many and lots showed up.

It was interesting the funeral dinner as I kept walking along.
I kept thinking man they have made my mom's favorite foods.
And I kept noticing it was all the same, even a few of the desserts
were her favorites, she didn't honestly have many of those.

So as I set my food down, I went in back and asked one of her best
friends. I said, did you guys have all my mom's favorite foods, she
just smiled. And said, yes we did.

Donna

PS. We also had a remembrance time, that anyone could talk.
I knew I couldn't. I hadn't even told my kids they could. But Derrick
had some very nice things to say.

That was sweet of her friends.

Also of Derrick.

Give yourself lots of time -- however much you need, Donna.

That sounds lovely, Donna

It was a very special thing that your mother’s friends did by making her favorite foods for the funeral dinner. Most people don’t think of doing sweet little things like that.

It was my mother’s wish not to have services of any kind. It’s soooo hard to get up and speak at those things... At my grandma’s wake I knew I wouldn’t be able to get through it, so I wrote a letter and asked the priest to read it for me. It was very brave of Derrick to get up there and say some good words about his grandmother

I know this is a difficult time... take care of yourself, Donna (((HUGS)))

Thanks everyone.

Ive been resting, can't seem to shake a migraine or two.

Not sure its not a stress headache. But haven't felt real good
either thanks to the heat and no breeze. But its cooler and I'm
feeling lots better today. So that is good.

I'm going to wait probably till Saturday and go to town and
spend the evening with Derrick. Since he is working Friday, Saturday
and Sunday. He wants to go to the Arc at the Dark fundraiser which
is for intellectual disabilities so I'll pick him up at work. And take him.
I registered him for the dance contest, he wanted to do it. So I did.

We will probably buy some raffle tickets that night if its possible, otherwise
just watch. But it will have lots of his friends, and many probably that
I know and consider friends.

I'm sorry that you've had migraines, Donna. I'm glad that you've been resting

The outing with Derrick sounds like fun, and it should be a good distraction

Yes, it will but its been raining and supposed to keep raining.

Ugh, but that is okay. I'm hoping it doesn't rain the event
out. Its the biggest event-fundraiser this group has. It
would be bad if it rains them out.

Its not going to dampen our time though. Mine and Derrick's
we can do something inside instead either way.

We are getting one of his goals for his medicaid waiver, somewhat
taken care of.

Its to get out with friends more often. I will have taken him to
two events after this and he will have spent time with friends.

We were going to do one on his birthday but we had cancelled
because they didn't put the information out early enough for
me. Then my mom's death and things made it a blessing they
hadn't. I still need to plan a special day for him and his friends.

But we will get to that. Heehee, I am not taking his friend
from out here in this time. Because if it rains I would rather
just spend time with him. If his friend in town is there, then
we can pick her up. But haven't heard anything yet so we will
see.

Its raining today, just life but better than all the hot weather.

Well my prediction came true. But they found another location.

Not sure exactly were yet. But it will be out later today.
WHen they get it all figured out. Its not the easiest thing
to do to get it solved when it floods out the outside location.

In less than 48 hours. Wow, I believe this is maybe two years
in a row. I'm not sure but I think the main thing they are
moving inside is the dance for the consumers, 50 of them.

And maybe the raffle they are having. Not sure what they
will do with the walk and run they had planned. It might have
to happen later.
