Kay, Thanks for the idea.

I kept thinking about Derrick's shoes. And the fact I swore he almost fell and I was sure he looked like he hurt his foot. So before I went to pt, I had decided we were going to shoe carnival to look for shoes. Well we did. We got some for $20.00. But then he told me the one's he loves that I know are close to a year old, he got at meijers so we went their too, we got a winter pair for $29.00 of Dr. Schols and a pair just like what he loves. That he says he can feel the part he loves even better. So he got 3 pairs today, I got one.

Anyway. I had went to pt, expecting to get released, but she is doing 2 more weeks. I've improved in lots of ways in some things. But she is going to work on the quads I think it is. And the part that keeps me from getting up and safely getting down and up both. Like when I'm trying to get up safely from a lower couch or seat in the bathroom, or into and out of bathtub.

So she surprised me, even though I had rated myself lower than even the first time this time. On her chart, I did tell her I even know why because I spent Saturday out in the rain and its worse right now doing things. So when I rated today I rated how it was over the weekend, and the last few days of the week. Not the last couple weeks. I knew I had a worse week last week. I can't say why I just did. And the rain didn't help. But my strength is still better and I know I'm better. And many ways is better. I just need to keep working on some things.

I'm overall pleased with what I can and cant do. And if I only get a little more strength and learn more how to manuever through my house I will be so happy with it all.

I also learned that I believe its a trait in my family the way we walk, Derrick was walking with both his feet weird, and he then said something about the new shoes making them come back in. And I knew it was what they are saying Harmony needs work on, to a degree. And I'm now almost positive
its part of Will's problem with his feet too.

So its hereditary, and I wont be telling my husband, he wouldn't believe me.

good luck figuring out your home and ways to improve your mobility.

I am glad that PT has been helping you learn to help yourself.
The best way to strengthen your quads is my getting up and down repeatedly stand up stand down.

I'm so glad that PT has helped you
Since you have no objections, I'm glad that you are continuing it, so when you are released, you will be as strong as possible

It sounds like you and Derrick had quite the shoe shopping trip!
When I had custody of my little brother (who was 13-15 at the time) and he was naughty, sometimes I would make him go shoe shopping with me as a punishment because I am SOOOOO picky and would drive him crazy.

Yes, standing up and sitting down is one of the things I'm doing. Its really a good thing for me too do. I am also using my walker to do a one leg in front and one behind to bend the legs to strengthen them.

I can use the kitchen cabinet too.

By the way I did get to watch Layla, And I also took her to track today and
took her back to her sister's mother-in-laws after she let her dogs out
and feed them. She is in a lot better shape today than she was on
saturday. And she is going to play bingo with Derrick and another friend
of ours on Friday, someone she meet a long time ago that she hit it
off with. She is really looking forward to it.

I will do all I can to help them get her in the best program she can get
into. She will be getting an emergency placement I believe into an
waiver better program than she is in. The teacher's that she worked
with at school got her into the program for working her mother wanted
her in. And they also got the bowling ball delivered her mother had
purchased for them. So its been a nice couple of things.

So we are all working to get her into the best life she can be. And to
get to the living type relationship she can be in. ITs of course going
to be not so easy to do but we will get her through it.

Is she the little girl who recently lost her mother?

I'm glad that you and her teacher have been working so hard to get her into the best situation possible. I hope everything works out, and the adjustment period isn't too rough for her. It would be wonderful if every child had angels like you

Thanks Ladies.

Yes, she is the young girl that lost her mom in April in the fiery crash.

I went to Will's conference this morning mainly because I wanted to hear the
new results for the evaluation. Well it wasn't much new to me. And it was some new numbers that I thought were good. But my son still isn't getting that he is mildly on the low side of disabled not the higher side. So that he really isn't going to catch up. They are really not happy with the lady that has his programming which I agree to a degree. But he has one more year here. And the alternatives they want aren't acceptable. They want him held back. Well its not doable period for one.

The principal wants to divide his day between 6th grade and the special needs room. The biggest problem with this he really doesnt' know the kids in the 6th grade. We would rather he go to the 4th grade classroom, with some of the 3rd graders he is with now. And then to 7th grade next year anyway.

Which I'm guessing is what is wrong with the principals plan. He is worried they will try to keep him there. So I wrote a email to the principal, director and coordinator with some thoughts to change.

The 4th grade class, also since he is in a 2nd grade I'm pretty sure math.
TO send home 3rd grade math this summer, because he has been in the 2nd grade over a many years because she hasn't tried to advance him.
And then to work through the problem with the reading. I suggested
the title one teacher come to get him two days a week. I realize that
its in the times he is in this room he is going to have also the speech and
ot also. So not sure how much he will get of this stuff anyway.

Also suggested they send and look into some 2nd grade grammar things for
him, instead of the classroom he is in stuff. Because they go back to things he has already done instead of new. That way he can do new things.

Even to send it home this summer so he is ready this fall.

I suggested thinking out of the box.

Was really surprised he came down and talked to me. He has been listening
to just Meluvja, so I didn't know if he wanted my thoughts.

I really wish that Will's parents had a better understanding of his disability, and I hope that the school implements at least elements of your plan, Donna.
