I'm guessing the executor is my sisters Dee and Diana. If there
is one. Not really sure. Most things have been left to all 4 of us. The lawyer has been put to filing things. So I don't know what is going on. I know it doesn't make sense but that is it. They were her co sign on the checking account. What ever it was called. Donna |

Is there any way you can get a second opinion from a different neurologist for Derrick? It sounds like he has been doing really well. You haven't mentioned him having any seizures in a while. The life alert system does sound like a good safety net tho.
I'm sorry that you are getting nowhere with your sisters regarding your mother's estate. It is an unpleasant business that I'm sure they'd rather not deal with. I'd press the lawyer to find out who is really in charge... I hope your car is okay |

I don't know the lawyer, and I honestly don't think anyone is exactly
in charge. I think it was left pretty much all of us. But the things that I'm talking about are technically small things like jewelry and other things right now. So we will just have to see. I think we can safely do some of the mundane books and things that need to just go to good will. And some other things like that soon. I'm not sure what this particular sister is wanting to do with some of this. We will see what is going to happen. Donna |

I wish you the best of luck with all of it, Donna. It sounds like nobody is being territorial or nasty, which sometimes happens at these times. So, you must have good sisters

Nope, that isn't the problem at all. Its more that no one wants to
help us figure out what to do with some of this stuff. I have a couple items I really want, and that is already okay with them. Another sister has a couple items she wants and that is cool too. My sister right below me, hasn't really figured out anything she would like or thinks she needs, but she did say they really need an stove. Well even though we will sell the house, its okay with two of us if she takes the stove. And its fine with me if she wants the washer and dryer too. I don't think the other sister will care. My other sister, there are three of us that are stair steps, this one. Has decided that her son who lives in Alaska till the spring and will probably be coming back to his house will get the freezer, which is totally okay, and she wants a table in the living room. And a lamp that hangs in the kitchen. And a little dresser, so that particular son can have a dresser she has. Um, I'd love for that son to take a dresser from the house too. Heehee, almost all the bedrooms have at least 2 dressers in them. SO there are plenty. Her other son, that lives in Indy, is living with his in laws right now. So not sure what they will want. His wife just got a bill of health from cancer, and not sure how long before they will try to move out on their own again. In some ways its to bad they wouldn't consider coming to Kokomo and moving into my mom's house for a while. Hmmmm, wonder if its a choice for them. My other sister, has two kids, one her daughter has a couple things that she has stored at my mom's. So they are already hers. And I'm hoping she will find something she wants. I'm guessing my nephew and his wife will find something they want too. But not sure. There kids are little, and there are bean bags that I'm hoping they will take. I'm working on some of the toys and took some for Harmony already. Was told too by one sister. And I know another doesn't mind. So its the way things go. I've been sick since last night. Not sure what i'm going to do. I need to figure out how to get internet over in Kokomo so I can work and do some things there. If I can't I'll have to take time off. Donna |

Wow, I didn't realize it had been that long since I'd updated this thread.
I was supposed to go back to Kokomo on Monday. But I had talked to two of my Sister's on Saturday letting them know I wouldn't be there. I knew there was no way. And now its Wednesday and I'm just about back to the land of the living from this cold. Still a ways to go. Glad that its still summer, and my parents aren't worrying yet about meetings or most arent'. Got a call to return about a meeting next week. I should be fine for it. But digressing. News, is fantastic today for Derrick: Drum Roll, He thought servings and one day a week of Cooking or learning would be great. He went to orientation yesterday. And met the new manager of his food court. And it turned out that he remembered to take his certificates especially his Safeserv. WHich is of course the big deal in Cooking. THe guy promoted him, 4 levels he is guessing right into the kitchen. So he will be a cook and start to learn all the stations. WHich is all he had ever asked for. He learned the guy got bomarbed by all the staff that had learned that the best Staff Derrick had asked to come back, And all the staff was telling him he better get him back for them. And he was only one there for their hall. And he came to talk to him then learned he was the Derrick and even better had the degree. So he was a happy camper, and learned everyone that knows him is looking forward to him coming back. He starts the 14th instead of the 24th because he will be a cook. And that is something he is liking too. So its good news for him. Dan, will have prescription medicare as of Sept. 1 with state help and that is good too. Most his meds should be 3.35 at the most. And he will like that. I am just working through both boys keeping them straight to keep their medicine and medical insurance. Harmony is starting to really get much better at standing and moving around now. Its a relief to a degree that she is getting there to me. I was really getting worried that she wasn't going to without much intervention. But I'm thinking after she is two she will be walking hopefully. WHich is of course about a year late. But that is just fine. Now I'm still worried that she isn't talking like she should be, but that isn't new ground for me. That is normal for my kids, and grandkids. Only one grandkid talked and did things like he was supposed to. She is still not taking cups and her therapist have Warned Kortni that getting her away from the bottles to an cup is going to be very hard, almost if not impossible. So we are thinking outside the box for ideas right now. One i've told Kortni we need to consider is that she herself start working on a cup that Harmony might use, because Harmony seems to drift to things Kortni will use, so maybe if Kortni uses one she will. So we are trying to find one that Kortni can use too. That Harmony can hold. Thats been the big problem. Heehee, Will comes back from his mom's on Saturday or Sunday. And I'm looking forward to seeing him. And him getting back in school. Not sure how many more summers he will go. Seems he told his dad and Meluvja that he doesn't call his mom, mom. He calls her Bre or something like that so it looks like she wants to be a friend instead of mom. And his dad cut off giving her money. So I'm guessing she wont care if she has him as much anymore. But that is okay, he has called Meluvja (mom) for quite a while now but not in front of Sabrina, but he did the Saturday she picked him up in Terre Haute. So I find it interesting. I think he is starting to realize that she is more a mom than his real mom is. Donna |

I'm glad that your cold is finally clearing up
It sounds like everyone, and everything, is going really well. I hope that continues... I really enjoy hearing about your family, especially when things are going so well! I'm so happy for Derrick that he is going to get to cook like he wants to, and it must make him feel so good to know that he has so many friends where he is going to work again |
