If your BIL does make this cruel decision, you will not end up on the street. There are resources out there, and it seems to me like you have a good care team who is capable of connecting you to them :hug::hug:

I got a email from my doctor, and he said that he looked at the new tests, and that I'm very close to stage V, and that he wants to see me in the next two weeks. BF:(

I'm so sorry about the bad news from your doctor, Friend :hug::hug:
I'm glad that he is seeing you sooner, I wish it was even sooner, and under better circumstances. And I wish that news did not come via an email.

I hope that once you get into the doctor and they run more tests, you have a better prognosis :hug::hug:

The girls are right...
Sometimes those service lights just come on because you need an oil change. Once it's done, the mechanic can turn the light off for you. I hope that is the case :hug::hug:

You are dealing with so much... I don't know how you are holding up so well

You are in my thoughts, BF :hug::hug:

go to auto zone and have them run a diagnostic test
before you take it to the shop.
Some times it is the gas cap not being tight enough.
it could be an oxygen sensor.

I took my car to a mechanic who is honest, and he said it was a minor problem. He said that there is a minor gas leak.

I also told him what the person said who inspected my car. He said that I will need new brake shoes soon.

I got a ride home after my therapy group meeting. My Case Manager drove me home, and to the grocery store. BF:hug::hug::hug:

OhKay 11-07-2017 06:07 AM

I'm glad that the repairs sound minor... hopefully inexpensive :hug::hug:

It was nice of your case manager to drive you home. Is this the new one? How are things going with her?

Have you been sharing your feelings about your kidney disease and living situation with your therapy group? Have they been supportive?

She is my new case manager. My other case manager either quit, or was fired, and I didn't have a case manager for months.

She seems to be very alert, and intelligent. She's very good with forms. She wants to go to the next visit with me to the kidney specialist. The kidney specialist is a big guy from another country. He was a little rude. I told him that, and he was nicer to me.

I've repeatedly thanked her. She has kept saying she's just doing her job. She sure has be helpful.

My mechanic is close to being across the street from my support center. So I dropped my car off, explained the problem, and then walked back up that road that wasn't to far, and went to my group therapy meeting. I walked in, and explained my situation to the office manager, and she called my case manager, and she said that she would drive me home. Then I went to the group therapy meeting with my councilor. I prayed allot the night before I got started that Monday afternoon.

If I didn't have Medicaid, I'd be up the creek. I don't know why the politicians attempted to get ride of Medicaid. They are not in the real world with the rest of us.

I've been sharing my concerns about my kidney problems with all of my doctors, nurses, support groups, and face book. BF:hug::hug::hug:

can you sue the company and look on the internet for a class action suit? and maybe sue your doctor for postponing your treatment?
there are a lot of lawsuits that are going on where you don't have to pay anything

it would be really easy to do and it would pay for medical expenses and a lot more if you and the others won.

I think that there is something like that going on against the pharmaceutical company. They claim that they are safe if the directions are followed. I'm on Medicaid. This type of lawsuit would not help me, but thanks for the thought. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Yes. Suffer kidney damage. There is a lansoprazole Lawyer 24 hours a day on the internet. I've taken that over the counter medication for over 5 years usually every night. I'm on Medicaid though. If I sued, I'd loose my Medicaid. Lansoprazole is a generic form of Prevacid.

All of those PPI acid reducers are possibly dangerous. Kidney disease is slow, and irreversible. I had no idea. I knew very little about kidneys. Now I'm one point away from stage V kidney failure. I'm going to end up needing a kidney transplant, or dialysis for the rest of my life. This troubles me deeply. BF:Sigh:

mymorgy 11-08-2017 11:06 PM

are you sure if you joined a class action suit you would lose your benefits?
who told you that?" You will likely lose your needs-based public assistance benefits for a period of time if you accept a lump sum payment that causes you to exceed the program’s income and resource limits. Likewise, if you give away part of your settlement as a gift or donation, you could also lose your SSI and/or Medicaid benefits for at least a time. Or, the government could seek reimbursement for benefits you’ve received.

Please note that you must report any settlement you receive to your caseworker within 10 days of receiving the funds.\
but you would probably receive a great deal of money."
I would call medicaid and ask them and call one of the law firms and ask how much they think you could get. I think it is worth it

I don't know what the answer is. I don't know if doctors are taught about it. Maybe the antacids that are not long lasting. I don't know yet.

MrsD. Can you help us as to what to do? BF :hug::hug:

OhKay 11-09-2017 07:40 AM

I think that you have done well using the resources you have at hand like your case manager, support group, and the forums for support. I think that you are dealing with this situation remarkably well :hug::hug:

I'm so glad that you spoke up and told that doctor that he was being rude to you, and he responded well. Continue to advocate for yourself like that when you can :hug::hug:

Your medical records would have to support any claim in a lawsuit. Cooperation from your doctors is best...

But right now I think it's best to get more information on your health and condition before you start thinking of any kind of lawsuit. Your doctors haven't even given you the basic information you need about that or how to pursue treatment. I wish you were getting much better care :hug::hug:

I have been thinking of you a lot, and you are in my prayers, Friend (((HUGS)))

Sorry, Just catching up.

Please explain the situation with the housing to your case manager.
There is housing through HUD and other things.

It could be something that you even have your own house. Just
like now. I hope things work out.

My case manager is looking into those things. These problems all together are way to much for me to handle, or think about.

I'm going to the hospital soon, and get another check up. I was one point away from 15, or stage 5 kidney failure. I don't want to talk about anything else at this time.

One bad thing at a time. I just cannot take anymore pressure at this time. I am very troubled. BF:hug::hug::hug:

I looked up Zantac which is for stomach ulcers, but it helps eliminate heartburn. It is a H2-receptor-blocker.

It's not a PPI as far as I can tell. My doctor knows my condition, and has me taking generic Zantac recently.

I was taking Lansoprazole for my over the counter chronic heartburn for over 5 years. I think that it's a PPI.

I'm not a doctor, so I don't know to much about this. BF:hug::hug::hug:
