I am so sorry you keep falling.
((((HUGS))))
be as safe as possible.
bizi

OhKay 12-10-2017 10:42 AM

Were you rushing when the walker tripped you up? It may help to have the PT watch you use it to make sure you are using it properly.

I'm concerned you are falling even though you are having PT. I think they should reassess you because you are getting worse instead of better. The exercises you are doing seem to be making you worse :hug::hug:

I hope you are not mad at me.
I love you and only want you to be safe... wish I was there to help...
(((HUGS)))

mymorgy 12-10-2017 11:12 AM

of course I am not mad at you. I am improving when I am walking in the hall.
I don't use a walker then. I was racing to go to the bathroom. what a nightmare. the hall isn't that big. I am so tired all the time. the p.t. is making me tired. I walked the hall today as usual and did well. I will try to do exercises now. I skipped them yesterday. I find the squatting really hard. I am so fat.
I am so tired I haven't been able to build up endurance. I won't give up though..
love
bobby

Mari 12-10-2017 08:15 PM

Good to hear that you walked the hall and did well.

If you cannot squat, he can give you alternative exercises that use the same
muscles.

M

mymorgy 12-11-2017 05:55 AM

I will ask him for some. Just walked the hall, had a big chef salad and soup last night with cecilia last night. had a hard time walking with my cane. cecilia said it was bad

Dmom3005 12-11-2017 04:04 PM

Bobby

I hope the walker becomes easier as time goes on.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

Mari 12-11-2017 08:11 PM

Keep trying Bobby.

That's all we have to do.
or
That's all we can do.

Either way works perhaps.

I had a vicious black and blue and followed my own advice and took arnica aaand already I see a difference. My P.T play tennis four times a night. I am so jealous. Pidge moved and let him pet her for a while. Usually she acts as if she is dead. i was so happy.

Mari 12-12-2017 02:36 AM

Glad that the Arnica helps.

M

bizi 12-12-2017 09:17 AM

At your suggestion bobby, I gave my girlfriend some arnica gal and it helped her neck pain...she was in a car accident about a month ago.
bizi

OhKay 12-12-2017 09:25 AM

I'm sorry that you had that bad bruise, but I'm glad that the Arnica worked for you

Do you enjoy hearing about the PT's tennis? I know you really like it?

mymorgy 12-12-2017 09:46 AM

I was so envious lol

mymorgy 12-13-2017 12:23 PM

i THINK I AM GOING TO GET A ROLLATOR WHEN I GO OUT

Dmom3005 12-13-2017 01:40 PM

Bobby

Sounds like a good idea. That way also if you get tired you can sit on the seat. My mom uses hers around her house too. Now she also walks small area's without it. But its taken lots of time for her to feel safe doing so. But she is in a different situation than you are. So using it at home, being able to take a few steps without is fantastic for her.

Donna :grouphug::hug:

Mari 12-13-2017 11:41 PM

That will work nicely for you I hope.

M

bizi 12-14-2017 07:42 AM

bobby, does that have 3 or 4 wheels?
bizi

mymorgy 12-14-2017 08:03 AM

i was thinking of four wheelss but I haven't gotten in touch with the medicare supplier. why do you ask> I know nothing

bizi 12-14-2017 08:07 AM

They make walkers that have three wheels like a triangle that fold in easily for easy transport. I will try to post a picture of one.
No seat though.
bizi

bizi 12-14-2017 08:08 AM

this one has a basket so maybe not as easy to transport?https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/s...isnNc&usqp=CAchttps://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....UL._SY550_.jpg

bizi 12-14-2017 08:15 AM

You may want/need the one with a seat though, 4 legs.:o
bizi

mymorgy 12-14-2017 08:33 AM

I want a seat and a basket

Dmom3005 12-14-2017 10:12 AM

Thanks for sharing Bizi

i've never seen the 3 wheel one.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 12-14-2017 10:30 AM

Definitely one with a seat, but the basket is probably sold separately.

I think 4 wheels is the way to go.

Ask the medical supplier how wide it is before you settle on something. You want to make sure it's narrow enough to get through the passages in your apartment.

Amazon.com: Drive Medical Four Wheel Rollator with Fold Up Removable Back Support, Red: Health & Personal Care
I don't know if this will work. I bought a four wheel cheap and popular one and decided not to go through the hassle of medicare

Looks good.

Let your physical therapist give you some pointers on how to use it successfully.

This looks very good!
bizi

Dmom3005 12-15-2017 05:21 PM

THis is exactly what I'd like to have. But I know I have trouble getting
my mom's in my car by myself. So I'd have to look into that part.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

mymorgy 12-16-2017 06:07 AM

I might get it on monday I will believe it when i see it.My tail bone still hurts. I haven;t been doing that much p.t. I will try harder instead of just feeling guilty.
I know he wants me to do too much and improve. I hate to disappoint him. I
am also so fearful i will get worse if I don't do more. My therapist who is petite said that the leg swats were hard and painful when she tried them. that made me feel better. she and her husband have traveled all over south east asia. she went on a trek for 12 days between nepal and tibet. she hates the cold and had three back fusions. wow, Many times she camped in st john's national park and also went to machu pichu-simply amazing she blew my mind.

I am still very depressed say the least but feel so lucky.Vanesa wants order which is fine by me. she is good. she has been down.

bizi 12-16-2017 09:48 AM

I can't do squats bobby or lunges...:o
good luck with your other ones.
(((((HUGS)))))

OhKay 12-16-2017 10:05 AM

The walker looks great, has great reviews, and Drive Medical has a good reputation. I hope it works out well for you :)

Donna, the best way to find out how it folds up, etc is to read the question/answer section and reviews from people who have already bought and used it on the product page.

mymorgy 12-16-2017 10:30 AM

and it is so cheap! I chose it because of all the positive reviews

mymorgy 01-13-2018 02:30 PM

this is maybe when i injured my back

OhKay 01-16-2018 08:24 AM

When do you think you injured your back? Which fall? How recent?

How is your back now?:hug::hug:

mymorgy 01-16-2018 08:48 AM

It was one of those two posts. both I hit my tailbone and it took this long to heal. I think it has been at least a month and I thought it was the exercises

Dmom3005 01-16-2018 10:25 AM

Bobby

Probably the back and the exercises that might help irritate the
area are the same from the fall.

Its like yesterday I took a fall coming in because my area at the
door is was very slippery. And now I have a hip and top of
leg really sore. The other one isn't so bad. But I know how
it happened. And the only change I can make to the area is
to make sure the little rug is at the top close to were I walk in.

I am really sore today, but will survive. I have to work on
getting up from the floor, its a no brainer. But I'm not sure
I want to start till after surgery. Because I can't lift or do
anything with the left arm till after about a week or longer.

Heating pad, right on that area is a must a few times a day.

Donna :grouphug::hug:

mymorgy 01-16-2018 10:37 AM

oh rats do you have a full plate. what kind of rug? what happens when it gets
wet? it is so hard to be careful when you have so much to focus on. what kind of shoes do you wear? do they grip? I bought a bath mat but then gave it to marcia. I take baths and I thought it was more dangerous with the bath mat.
take care and feel better
bobby

Dmom3005 01-16-2018 10:48 AM

The problem was the little rug type thing that was to be at the front
door. Was not exactly in use. It had moved out of place.

Its been working since I replaced it. I have boots that are
real new. But I have been wearing them for a week. And
they work really well on the snow, ice and sleety areas.

I believe strongly there was just to much melted snow, and other
things on the doorway. So I'm being really careful. And I've been
back in the area a lot to let at least one dog. And sometimes two
out. So all is well right now.

Donna

OhKay 01-19-2018 07:51 AM

Please be very careful, Donna!:hug::hug::hug::hug:

Unless I have to actually walk through several inches of snow, I don't wear winter boots, I wear waterproof hiking shoes. The treads on them are a lot better than most winter boots. I just bought a new pair by Merrill on clearance at ****'s for $15!

Depending on the floor under the rug, you could always try some double-sided tape to keep it in place if it keeps moving on you.

Dmom3005 01-19-2018 12:27 PM

Yes, Kay

I honestly wear only these boots when its big amounts of snow.
Which this year is what we are having. I have to get some of
the other shoes again. Problem is do they make some that
don't have to be tied. I wear mainly shoes without ties.
