Sounds like a good idea. That way also if you get tired you can sit on the seat. My mom uses hers around her house too. Now she also walks small area's without it. But its taken lots of time for her to feel safe doing so. But she is in a different situation than you are. So using it at home, being able to take a few steps without is fantastic for her. Donna

They make walkers that have three wheels like a triangle that fold in easily for easy transport. I will try to post a picture of one.
