Default Anti acid medication, and Kidney problems.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what is being said about over the counter 24 hour anti Acids. I've been taking them for over five years.

Back in the 90's I took Imodium like it was going out of style for diarrhea. Now I don't have a bad case of diarrhea. Now I have heart burn. I've been taking these over the counter long lasting heart burn medications for over five years.

If I don't take anti acid medications, I get a horrible case of heart burn, but is my heart burn medication giving me Kidney disease possibly? Has this been sneaking up on me?

I don't know. BF
