had delicious food in reasonable quantities.
Lunch=
8 oz of chicken, 1 cup of smothered cabbage, 1 cup of boiled beets., 1 cup of collard greens
Dinner=
6oz of talapia in coconut oil, 1/2 cup mixed fruit,1 tablespoon of coleslaw,
1 cup of chunky veggie soup.
Had a friend over for dinner, we were all full.

I am on day 4 of my diet/life style which also excludes alcohol.

Low carb less than 50 grams and IF intermittant fasting, eating only 2 meals a day and no snacking at night. I skip breakfast naturally so eat 2 meals a day already. so an 8 hour or less eating window. The only thing I have in the morning is half and half in my coffee which is about 4 tablespoons. I hope this doesn't break my fast. I have asked this question on another forum about low carbing and IF that I am now participating. Will be anxious to hear what they think. I would rather not give up my cream in my coffee but I will if they say so. I still use stevia toffee flavored to sweeten the coffee with out any carbs and naturally sugar free as stevia is a plant.

Today was a fairly low carb day.
noon lunch:
chicken thigh with spinach stuffing and wrapped in bacon. yum!
a bowl of squash soup which was wonderful and I bought a quart to take home. It has fewer carbs than a butternut squash and 1 cup collard greens.
7pm dinner:
6 oz of chicken with pesto and 2/3 cup of brocolli, and half an avocado.
I will try to be fasting until 1130am tomorrow
I found out that my cream does matter so I will drink it with just stevia sweetener.
I snacked on almonds and cheese when I first got home and at 2pm when I was feeling a bit peckish.I am full and am getting ready to go to the gym.

edited to add that I never made it to the gym.... oh well.
Hubby and I are beginning to think about going to paris to see an art exhibit in late september early october. Gustov Klimt it is a video art exhibit. __________________

Great job sticking to your diet and staying AF for 4 days!
I don't think you have to go to the gym every day.

I don't eat breakfast anymore either.
As far as nixing the cream in your coffee, I found it a lot easier to switch to skim milk before going to black coffee. I'm taking it with skim milk again, but no sweetener.

A trip to Paris sounds wonderful! I hope it pans out!

Had a good lunch:
1115am rotisserie chicken thigh and leg (ate the skin),
swiss chard
bowl of creamy tomato veggie soup.
afternoon snack 1 oz of almonds
dinner:
5pm 3oz Tuna, salad with onions, celery and 1 cup of tomatoes,

2 tablespoons of mayo

2/3 cup of squash soup
1/2 cup of blueberries
I am feeling a bit peckish, so am chewing on some more sugar free gum.
I already drank 24 oz of diet root beer and la croix.
So this is more a mental thing.
Although I went to the gym and walked 3.2 miles at 5% incline for 66 minutes and supposedly burned 474 calories. So I have a reason to be hungry. But I will try to stick it out and make it until 1130am for an 18 hour fast. Going to weigh myself tomorrow.
Started a yeast/fungal detox today and also started taking a supplement for hot flashes called fermented maca. I ordered something recommended by a forum poster for memory. Can't recall off hand what it is called. But my memory is so poor I will take any thing to improve my recall.
I already take turmuric, and fish oils.


I know this is a lot to start taking at one time. If I have side effects how will I know which one caused what?....maybe I should only start one thing at a time. Think I will wait for the detox....and just start with maca for my hot flashes since that is the most bothersome symptom right now, and wait on the detox and memory until I fully get the maca in my system.

Forgot to tell you the ladies at the party last night were so friendly. At one point there were 5 of us sitting around the table in the play room commiserating about menopause, thought to myself. Wow, I could actually have these woman be new friends, very exciting! Most of the people there were from whole foods trivia night on fridays. Wow... new friends!!!!!



Went to brunch this morning/noon. Ordered the BBQ beef brisket omelet with sauteed veggies and a side of brocolli. Right away asked for a to go container and cut it in half to take with me. It was delicious!
There are left overs in the refrigerator from last week that need to be eaten. stuffed bell pepper, crock pot pork roast with green beans and carrots and onions, now my BBQ omelet.



We are supposed to go to a retirement gathering for a colleague at 2 then a cook out at a friends house. I did laundry last night so that is done. I need to rake the leaves up and it is supposed to rain later. I need to take a shower as I have early morning appointments for the next 3 days before we leave on thursday.


I have filled my pill boxes for the next 2 weeks, pdoc authorized the early refill of 2 meds that I was going to run out of while on vacation. I can pick them up today which is good. klonipin and zyprexa which are really important to me and my sleep. I had some small of a cushion for the klonipin but did not want to use it so asked for a refill early that my pdoc had to approve. She did and I need to pick them up.


I don't think I want to go to the events this afternoon, maybe go later to the cookout. There will be much drinking and I don't want the temptation.
If/when I go I will bring my diet drinks like I did at the last gathering and it worked out just fine. IT is the long pause at the gathering before eating that is hard to just socialize...not sure who else may be there. Think I will call to find out who else is going. He is cooking pork chops on the grill. That sounds like they will be dry and I would rather eat the left overs in my fridge. Maybe I will just go later after they eat.



Yesterday I picked up an unusual plant at the nursery.
It is called red button ginger. It is exotic and reading about it requires an amount of care. You can eat parts of it. I will repot it. So I have things to do today before my busy days/work week before we leave.
The first appointment is for an obese woman
(think 400/500 pounds, am not sure).


I just told Jeff that I did not want to go to the retirement gathering and the cook out, I will eat left overs which are on my diet. He understood.


I am going to forego weighing myself until I see Dr. Orazio on wednesday.

That's awesome, Bizi! I know you have been wanting to meet new friends, and I'm happy that you were able to talk to other women about your menopause symptoms

I didn't realize that your trip was coming up so soon. I'm glad that you are getting your meds today. Are you feeling more prepared for the trip now?

How did yesterday morning shape up? It sounds like you were, and will be, very busy!
