That is so true Bobby. The only way for people to understand it is when they start getting old themselves. I never thought about it to much, but I'm at that point where people retire. Now I understand why the age of 65/66 is the standard retirement age. Some people cannot take to much activity past 65. BF

Kay,

My sis would like my father to get a an an initial office test in case the
doctor and my father would see want to see decline.
He refuses.
Sis tells me in general terms that he is fine now.

My sis was very involved with my grandmother.
It was hard for the whole family.

My father does see an MD for a yearly check up and
periodically does series of Physical therapy visits related
to his hip surgeries years ago.

It seems like your sister has your father's best interests at heart, but I don't blame him for refusing the baseline doctor's visit for dementia. I would be PO'd. Since he sees his PCP yearly, and has family who could pick up on signs and symptoms, that's not necessary. I'm glad she says he seems fine now

I'm sorry that your family has this history with Alzheimers Disease. Watching your grandmother go through it was very hard for all of you. I'm so sorry that your aunt is going through it now as well

I'm glad that your dad continues to keep up with PT. It's important to stay physically active. It sounds like he does a better job at it than I do.

Sis said that Dad's MD gave him a book about Alzheimer's.

The MD works out of a big research hospital.

It's good for Dad to have information about his sister.

That's wonderful, Mari. It sounds like your dad has a good doctor.

I had a wicked painful rash on the top (outside) of my hands and wrist for a while.

It seemed like dry skin that was opening up and becoming
blister-y. But drinking more water and putting coconut oil
on my hands did not help.

It was getting worse.

=--=-=-
I had Hubby me talk me through it. I realized it might be the hand soap
I was using. After three or four days of my old olive oil /scent free soap, it is looking better and feels less awful.
