I wonder if my lack of interest in drinking fluids

1) messes with my skin (dry skin and weird breakouts and itchiness) and
2) makes depression worse.

I should have asked pdoc during our appt. but I was only focused on not
crying.

SARNA is a good anti itch lotion for dry skin that is not steroidal.

Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to drink a lot of fluids for one reason or another... sometimes it's just because I just want to relax and not have to reach for a cup often, or get up to refill my glass all the time. But I find that I don't feel good when I do that.

Dehydration can definitely dry your skin out and make you itchy. Any good body lotion can help with that until and after you start rehydrating.

And if you are dehydrated enough to throw your electrolytes off, it can lead to shakiness, which could increase anxiety, which is not helpful for depression.

Thank you, ladies.

Today I tried to drink water. I think it was five 8 oz cups.

Maybe I will have one more to make it six.

Red face

I drink water sweetened with stevia because I don't like drinking plain water. I carry a gallon jug around in my car and drink as much as I can in between clients. Works for me.

You're doing a good job with the water, Mari. "They" say 6-8 cups (8 oz) of fluid is the way to go. It doesn't have to be all water tho. But you shouldn't count beverages with caffeine and alcohol.

Lightbulb Can't talk on the phone with Dad for a while

My father and I irritated each other on the phone. He was talking about
his traveling and seeing his sister with Alzheimer's. I asked a few questions
and he got angry as F. We both switched the subject but it was too
late. His second subject got him angry too.
My sister says he has lots of ANGER.

(My dad was the primary care giver with Alzheimer's for a little while
with his own mother.)

I think he hates the phone anyway.

I'm sorry that your conversation didn't go well. I think I remember that you normally get along well with your dad?
Hopefully a brief break will do the trick, and things will be back to normal

I wonder why he has so much anger? Is it new? Does your sister have any ideas as to why he is so angry?

I'm sure it will be hard for your father to see his sister now, and it will be a difficult trip for him.
Does he have any sx of dementia himself? If he does, and he is aware of them, that may explain some of the anger...
