Today is the day that we were supposed to go on our tubing trip but we had to postpone it for now due to a big international canoe race that is being held on the river. I can let my anxiety go for now if I can, at least until I find out when we are going again.

Music is something that usually lifts my spirits and lowers my anxiety. For some reason it's been working opposite for me. I have been listening to music today and yesterday and I am only getting more and more depressed.

maybe you need to switch up the music a bit.....I have heard that others listen to different music when they are depressed verse hypo/manic.
I am sorry you are still depressed. Is this situational or chronic? bizi

Unfortunately my depression is chronic. My pdoc and I have been trying to get it under control for the last two years and have been most successful with the high dose of cymbalta that I am on now. Sometimes I still sink back down pretty low though.

What else helps you?
Right now I am sleeping more than I have in the past. I love sleep as long as it is in the day time.    =-= I have walked outside to sit under a tree. I even talk to the tree and hang out for a little while and draw strength from it. I touch the bark ---- all to get myself out of myself and to be part of something else. (My stuff's chronic too. But I need moments here and there when I can glimpse the other side -- the side where things feel like they could be o.k.) I hope that you have O.K. moments  M |

Mari, I love to sleep as well but have been told that it is not good for me to do so during the day. When the weather is nice, I like to sit outside in the sunshine enjoying the quiet and solitude of just being by myself.
Bizi, yes I do have a lot of pain issues as well. It's one of the reasons I really don't want to try switching medications around. The combination I am on right now, along with the stimulator I have in my back are all helping me with my pain. I'm afraid that if I switch meds, the pain will increase again. It took a long time of trial and error to find a combination that would work for me.
