Because my BIL and his friend can't come down here to help until about 4 Friday, Corey doesn't think they will be able to move much that day, and he's worried about having his friend with the bum knee carrying really heavy s- Saturday because his other friend can't come help...

So now he wants to hire movers, and I have to get an estimate (more work for me). He thinks it should be no more than $500, but I think he's dreaming. I put an online estimate in for a company that has 5 stars on Yelp. Hopefully they get back to me on Monday, are available the 23rd, and their quote is reasonable. I don't know if they have to come over and check things out to do an official quote? I'm not familiar with how moving companies work. If I don't hear back from them Monday, I will call them on Tuesday morning. I should call another company too I guess.

I have stopped crying about Dottie so much. I'm just going to love her up as much as I can until I can't anymore. I'm going to give her a beauty treatment before she leaves. I would like to have the Soft Paws on her before then, but I don't know how I'd get her to the vet or groomer's to get them put on. IF I could get there, I would probably get her groomed there, too...
It's so frustrating to have limitations

We have to do laundry today
LOTS of it because we skipped last week because I couldn't deal with it and needed rest. The same could be said about today, not to the same degree, but I can't hide from it forever... we need clothes.

I wish I knew an answer about the mover's for you. I'm so
sorry its turning out the people you need aren't going to
be available when you need them.

I hope things work out for you.

I also have no real idea what to do about Dottie. Hopefully
things will work out for you there.

I have to try to get estimates from moving companies today. Honestly, I do not want to hire one, but if that's what he wants to do, then whatever. At least he's made ONE decision. I'm pretty sure it's going to be more expensive than he thinks, and it's not like we're giving anyone a lot of notice. I hope someone reliable and reasonable is even available. I will call that company I put in the generic online estimate with, and another company, too.

Despite everything, the move still seems surreal/unreal to me right now. Maybe when I start packing it will feel real to me? We never went to get boxes on Saturday because the weather was so bad, and we didn't go yesterday because we had all that laundry to do. I'll have to go get some tomorrow. I will ask for help putting them in my car, and Corey can bring them in when he gets home.

So far, I think that the extra gabapentin is helping. I'm still getting up really early, so it's not sedating, which I guess is good in a way.

I haven't mentioned it in a while, but my BR problems continue. They're worse right now because of all the stress and anxiety
I haven't tried my surgeon's second suggestion: taking Mirilax at night yet because I'm afraid of "getting diarrhea at 2am" like she said was possible, but I think I will try it tonight because I don't have anywhere to be tomorrow morning, and I need to try something.

Kay

Good luck with your b-issues. I think your handling the
other things really well. I hope you can find some movers
with some luck and get a price you like. Please keep us updated.

I am saying some good words for you and sending hugs.

Thumbs up

Kay,

Good luck with the move.
You have already accomplished much -- (1) by deciding to leave,
(2) finding a new place, (3) hiring a mover.

Usually the local movers are good people. (The long distance companies
are a different matter I have heard.)

Thank you so much for all your support ladies. I really appreciate it, and love you all. I would be lost without you

I called a moving company called 3E that got 5 stars on Yelp. It's a family business, which I like. They're available on the 23rd, and the owner is coming by today at 11:30 to check out all the s- we have and give me an estimate...
Of course Corey won't be here, and he says I won't be able to reach him by phone, so I will have to make the decision about whether or not to hire them.

Corey thinks it will be less than $500, but I think he is off the mark. I will just accept the estimate if I think it is reasonable because I am the person who has been given the responsibility of making the decision, and I know how badly Corey wants to hire movers. We don't have to lay down a ton of money when we sign the lease, so I figure we have some wiggle room.

I have to jot down a couple of notes before the guy comes so I don't forget to show/tell him anything.

I'm trying to light a fire under Corey's a- to throw s- out because there's quite a bit of pretty big stuff that we're not taking with us that is taking up space where the packed boxes are going to go in the office, so I last night I mentioned hiring a junk removal company. He didn't like that idea AT ALL, and said he would start throwing stuff out in the dumpster at work. I hope he will start doing that soon...

Meanwhile, I have also had a ton of BS going on having to do with my insurance and medical billing, so I've been on the phone a lot. I'm also being denied my Tysabri treatments (for MS). Long story short, it's due to the ineptitude of people at the drug company. I have done all I can do myself, so now the matter is in the capable hands of my neuro's medical secretary. I have not had an infusion since October, which is not good.

I did not try taking the Mirilax last night because I had salad, and already had enough problems to deal with.
Mental health-wise, I need to increase the gabapentin by another 100mg tonight.
