I need to vent about this while Corey's in the shower and can't read what I'm writing...

Friday night was a TOTAL F'ING S- SHOW. Our upstairs neighbors were in rare form. Corey f'ing flipped out and punched a hole in the wall
He went f'ing nuts!!! I was not concerned for my safety, but I was absolutely HORRIFIED by his behavior.

If he can't control his temper, I don't know what I'll do...

I'll write more about everything else after I catch up on the forum.

I honestly don't remember what I did during the day Friday. I was packing like a fiend. It's a blur. Never finished in the kitchen tho (I have a TON of s-) cuz Corey wanted to go to bed early, and the sound of me taping boxes together/up was too loud for him.

Our upstairs neighbors were f'ing ridiculous that (Friday) night. There was no way Corey could sleep. Close to 11pm, he got out of bed frantic and angry, and absolutely insistent I call the police. He was so anxious and was yelling, so I had a hard time looking up the non-emergency number.

It was the first time we've called the police on them, and it was warranted. It's kinds f'ed up because it was our last night there.

Unfortunately, their guests left right before the police officer arrived. He went up there and came down afterwards. He basically said that he could tell they were under the influence, but their guests had gone home, and they agreed to keep it down. But while the police officer was still in our apartment, they started banging again, so he went right back up there. I don't know what happened, but the police officer said he had to yell at them and tell them that the next time the police had to come, there would be 3 or 4 of them. After the officer left, they tried to test us a couple of times by banging a little. Corey was PO'ed, but I convinced him to let it go. He stayed up drinking, but I went to bed at about 1am. I had to be up at 5am at the latest to get s- done.

Yesterday (the next day), I got up at 5am and got right in the shower because the movers were coming at 8am, and I wasn't done packing yet. Then I went directly to Dunkin Donuts and bought some coffees because I can't function without it, and my Keurig was packed up.

Corey really didn't know what to do, but he did some things I couldn't do myself, and did things I asked him to do. I was on autopilot. The movers arrived a little early, but I had finished packing everything up with the exception of the essential bathroom items and half the kitchen by then, so I was not in their way. I finished packing the kitchen just as they moved in there to collect the boxes.

The movers were nice young men who worked fast and hard, and were very careful with our belongings. They finished an hour early, and we ended up paying almost $250 less than the estimate, so I was very happy with that experience

After they left, I realized that Corey did take all that s- out to his truck () with the exception of one cat condo, which is in our new living room. He brought a lot of stuff over himself, but some of it was garbage lol.

I started doing some unpacking right after the movers left, but paused for a while because the cable guy arrived over an hour early. I've unpacked the living room and bathroom, and have put all the boxes that belong in the office closet away, but the kitchen... that will take me forever. There are almost too many cabinets.
But aside from that, I can't believe how many boxes I've emptied already. It's unbelievable.

Then I took a 3+ hour nap. The first one I've had in a long time.

I thought Buddy would hide under the bed as soon as we let him out of his carrier, but he immediately went exploring, seemed very happy, and was very affectionate. Rocky, on the other hand, was hissing, growling, and swatting at us all day and night. He's over it today now, and is being very affectionate and really clingy.
There is a cat with a collar who kept coming up to our slider frequently last night. Buddy seems interested in him or her, but Rocky doesn't. I hope that the cat's presence doesn't lead to any territorial issues with my cats like urine marking.
Our new patio faces the woods and we have at least one squirrel out there, so they will like that.

I like the new apartment. There are things I don't like about it tho. I guess I will tell you about it later.

I have until the end of the month to clean the old place, but I only have until Tuesday afternoon to use the vacuum and carpet cleaner because Corey's going away Wednesday through Friday and I can't carry it out of the apartment myself.

Kay,
You made it! So very happy that you got mostly moved and mostly did fine with everything.
I'm sorry but I laughed about Corey punching the wall the day before.
Our last move was essentially because of the neighbors so I can relate to the
frustration of rowdy people upstairs.

'Nice to have a patio that faces the woods -- that can be calming I think.

I'm glad that you mostly like the new place

I wish you many blessings there.

And thanks for the update about Buddy and Rocky.

Thanks so much, Mari

I didn't laugh about the hole in the wall. I'm still really PO'ed at him. I don't know if you remember, but he also punched a hole in the ceiling a couple of weeks ago, too.

But I think it's priceless that we called the cops on them our last night there... It's like a final F U. I think it's hilarious, but Corey doesn't think it's funny at all.

Facing the woods is really calming, and so far we've had a lot of privacy.

I'm manic. That's how I've been getting through all of this. I still have to clean the old apartment, and have more unpacking to do. This whole ordeal isn't over, so I'm not going to do anything about it until it is.

I was very busy yesterday. I did a bunch of crap you don't need to hear about, but I'll say I did end up unpacking the kitchen and putting everything away. I was able to cook, so we had our first REAL meal in days.

I have to start cleaning the old apartment. And I have to start with the bedrooms, where there is carpeting, because I only have the vacuum until tomorrow afternoon. There were 2 cat boxes in the office for a year and a half, so that room will need A LOT of attention.

I'm not looking forward to it. My body is just broken.

I am not surprised to hear that you are manic. All of that activity and such, demands, deadlines....
Glad that you are channeling your energy to what needs to be done.
Sorry if you are doing things that are not helpful. You are trying your best to just cope with everything. Be kind to yourself and your body.
Rest when you are able.

I sure wish with that extra $250 you saved from the moving
company you could have hired some help for the cleaning.

I know wishful thinking on my part. Just me and my way
of thinking. I hope you can get this done and feel better
soon.

After a long hard day's work, I went to bed to find that one of the cats S- on the quilt on my side of the bed!
Someone is trying to send me a message (it looks like it was Buddy's), but I don't know what it is. It was hard, so maybe he is constipated. It could also be that I was gone for over 4 hours cleaning the old apartment yesterday and he didn't like that. When I have time (LOL, I will look up what causes this type of behavior. I will also pick up some wet food today just in case he was telling me he is uncomfortable because he's constipated. This better not become an ongoing problem.

Donna, I didn't even think about hiring a cleaning service. Boy, I wish I did tho

I did a lot of work in the office yesterday because the cats boxes were in there, and it took a lot of time, but it's finished. The carpet in our bedroom was just coated with cat hair where the bed was from the cats hanging out under there all the time, and that was a BIG project... I had to pull it up with my fingers because the vacuum wouldn't pick it up. Unfortunately the power went out, so I couldn't use the vacuum anymore, but I just have to go over the carpet one more time, and that room will be done.

I have to reign in my OCD or I'm never going to finish cleaning that apartment.
I have to stop cleaning baseboards and other minutia until I finish tackling the big jobs. I have a plan for the day, hopefully a good one. I only have today and tomorrow to finish.
